Fredrick gulped in fear, but his bravado resurfaced as he yelled at Don Makul, "Why are you letting this nobody slap you around like kids?"

Don Makul glared at Fredrick with a look that could have pierced through him. The tension in the air was palpable.

Gabriel sneered and asked Don Makul, "Do you know this man?"

Fredrick, emboldened, stepped forward and declared, "He is my man. What gives you the effrontery to slap them?"

Gabriel smiled and shook his head slowly. His expression turned icy as he stated with authority, "Because I'm their boss."

Fredrick burst into mocking laughter. "You're lying! You're just a fool playing pretend."

Don Makul's glare intensified as he snapped, "Silence, Fredrick. Master Gabriel speaks the truth."

Fredrick's laughter died in his throat, replaced by a look of utter shock. He stammered, "W-what? No, this can't be true."
