Chapter 58

The following day, Gabriel strode purposefully through the corridors of the company, his eyes scanning his surroundings. Spotting a briefcase left unattended, he approached it cautiously, mindful of the security risks.

"Excuse me," he called out to a nearby security guard, motioning towards the briefcase. "Could you please take this to the security room? It seems out of place here."

The security guard turned to him with a dismissive glare, his posture radiating arrogance. "Why should I listen to you? Who do you think you are, giving me orders?"

Gabriel's jaw tightened with frustration, but he kept his tone even. "I'm simply concerned about the security of this building. Isn't that your job as a security guard?"

The guard scoffed, his arrogance swelling. "I don't take orders from anyone, especially not from someone like you," he retorted, casting a derisive glance at Gabriel. "Your wife may work here, but that doesn't give you any authority over me."
