He started coming towards me, but I didn't behave like I saw him. I scanned through him and noticed that he didn't harbor any ill intent. He got right before me and Jade and stretched forth his hands for a handshake. At this point, everyone around had left what they were doing to check out what would happen next. I put my hands in my pocket and rejected him outright. Everyone around was shocked, including Jade.

He retrieved his hand carefully and threw me a harmless smile, which I replicated with my characteristic smirk. I held Jade's hand and left immediately.

"Hey, even if you are going to compete with him later, you shouldn't breed animosity towards him from the get-go," Jade said, uncertainty visible on her face.

"You can't understand," I replied as I quickly found a place with less people and sat her down on a rock there. "Please, I need your help. Which faction is he from?" I asked, impatiently waiting for an answer.
