I looked at my mum in a new light. I never knew she was capable of such a feat. I put all my excitement aside and asked IP to show what the energy deliverer would do to help cultivate "Absorb".

She took a quick glance and she nodded, seemingly impressed. Then she sat back on her invisi-chair.

I took my stance as directed by the book. Then a tiny stream of energy swam out of my mum's finger. It wiggled like a snake as it approached me. I thrust my palm out in a bid to absorb it, but when it made contact with my arm, I jolted backwards because it shocked me to my core!! . I held in the pain, having cultivated my emotions. I then acted like nothing happened.

This went on for a while until I started to feel resistant to the pain. Now the pain wasn't coming from contact with the energy; it was coming from storing the energy in my body. If any absorbed energy lasted more than a second, I would feel that jolting pain rocking around the bones of my body. It was excruciatingly painful. Eve
