Before sunrise, Mark led others to the school bus to know how they could get it started. He appointed Lucian and Jacob to look around for where the backup generator was, they might have luck in charging the battery. [They were explosions at multiple buildings including the pit which created a hole for anyone or anything in the pit to escape]The explosion from the pit made it possible for Henry to finally get free from the raiders and head to the pit to help Robert as the raiders had their hands full, the explosions they heard were not just on random buildings but on buildings where more infected were locked up.“Robert!! They finally got to their base. Those at the base were surprised and happy to see that Peter, Henry and Robert had made it back even if they were with company.
