4. His lawyer

Ian’s eyes grew wider and wider. He can’t stop looking at the beautiful woman in front of them. The police looked very shocked as well. 

“Wh-at? His lawyer?” one of them asked. 

The lawyer just nodded with a firm and serious straight expression. After a while, the police couldn’t stop laughing. The lawyer seemed moved and very confused. 

“What are you laughing at? I didn’t say anything funny.” she mumbled. 

They stopped laughing and both cleared their throats. 

“Wait, I think you got the wrong person. This man? He has a lawyer? Come on, looks like he doesn’t even afford to buy himself a new sneaker.” the other police said. 

Now, they continued laughing again. The lawyer shook her head. Ian was being humiliated making the lawyer slap her hand on the table. The police and everyone inside the station were all freaked out. 

“I am not kidding around here, people. I am going to get him out of here no matter what and I can even sue you for bullying him.” the lawyer said madly. 

Ian went very speechless because he can’t still move on for what was happening. The two polices just both gulped. It looked like both got scared of the beautiful lawyer. 

“Uh-m, I am sorry, miss but we can’t do that.” the other said. 

“We can’t release this guy.” the other one said as well. 

The lawyer just took a deep breath and rolled her eyes. She sat beside Ian which made him very surprised. He can even smell her rich and expensive scent. 

“I am not kidding, and why can’t you release him?” she asked them. 

The two polices can’t say anything. Like they were afraid to say something. The lawyer got mad and yelled at them. She doesn’t want them to just waste her time. 

“Because... Mr. Evans paid us and if he finds out that we released him, he’s going to get furious and get mad at us!” the police said. 

Ian couldn’t believe it. He never thought this type of scenario was still happening until now. The lawyer looked at him and smiled like she was telling him that everything's going to be okay, and she was going to take care of everything. 

“Hmm, looks like you were both doing illegal, you are even called police officers. You know what, here’s the thing.” she said shaking her head. 

The two polices looked both thrilled and fear were painted into their faces.  

“ You know... I am not bragging but I want you to know that I am very famous, and I know everyone. I think you already know what I am trying to tell you, right?” she asked them. 

They went very silent. 

“In fact, the rich man should be arrested as well for what he did, he didn’t just pay the both of you just to put my client and jailed him, but he also had beaten Mr. Laude. Now, do you want me to request you to arrest him?” The police were scared of what she said. 

Ian smiled, seeing that the police were both stunned by what she said. She was so famous. She was so brave that she couldn’t stop making him believe in her. He knew they were going to win this case. 

“Wh-at?!” the other police reacted. 

They looked very surprised and bothered because of what she said while she was just calm tapping the table with her fingernails. 

“Yes, I am not joking as you can see. So, the question is, can you arrest him, or do you want to arrest him? Do you want to do that perhaps?” she asked them. 

The police both looked troubled. The lawyer can’t stop smirking.  

“What? No! we can’t arrest him.” the other one said. 

The lawyer smirked and sighed. 

“Good, then, release Ian Laude right now.” she firmly said. 

The two police had no choice and agreed. They released Ian Laude, and as they left the station with such an alarming smile. But Ian can’t stop being curious who she was for he doesn’t know her, and he never met him in his entire life. As they reached outside, Ian’s eyes grew bigger with his mouth opened. 

“W-ow.” he blurted as he saw a Ferrari parked in front of the police station. 

This was his first time seeing a Ferrari much closer. It's like Chris' car but the Ferrari looks very appealing for him to see. He wanted to have one like that, but he knew he can't have one for he can't afford it.

“Yeah, wow, it’s my car. Do you want to see it?” the lawyer said. 

Ian was impressed and very amazed again. He was so embarrassed that the beautiful woman even had a rich car. The lawyer just smirked. 

“Come, let’s get inside.” the lawyer said. 

Ian nodded and followed her inside her car. He can't stop looking around. He wouldn’t believe that he was finally sitting inside a Ferrari car. The lawyer just can’t stop shaking her head while laughing at his reaction. Thus, she knew that it was his first time riding a Ferrari. 

“I’m sorry.” Ian apologized for his behavior. 

The lawyer just nodded and smiled. 

“No worries. I understand.” she mumbled. 

Ian looked at her again and took a very deep breath. He was earning some of his bravery to ask her about something that he can't even voice out.

“I’m sorry to ask but why did you come?” he finally asked her. 

The lawyer seemed not to be surprised, because she was already expecting him to ask him about that thing. She just sighed and took a deep breath then looked at him with a serious look. 

“Well, no need to know about that right now. The important thing you should know right now is that... you are going to be super rich soon.” the lawyer said and winked at him.
