Ariella looked up at Alex, her eyes shining with tears.

“Dad, it's not what you think,” she pleaded, trying her best to hold back the rains from falling in heavy torrents.

“Don't touch it, you will get hurt,” he whispered, making Ariella more confused.

Alex quickly carried her up, caressing her back.

“Why are you picking them up? What if you hurt your fingers? You didn't really think dad would crush your skull because of the pot, did you?” He whispered, wiping the hint of tears at the corner of her eyes.

“However, you can't escape punishment. You broke a very expensive antique out of anger. I will slash your monthly allowance in two, taking the other half till it's enough to pay for the damages. If I give your brothers five hundred thousand dollars, it means I will give you two hundred and fifty thousand, till you complete the payment for the vase. I think that's a better option than taking it out of your trust fund, don't you agree?” Alex whispered, setting her down beside the tub.
