Kristen smiled in relief, the blood sample safely in her pocket.

She turned to the three men in the room, who were still huddling around Alex, discussing in hushed tones.

“I will be leaving now,” she announced, patting Raz's back.

“Won't you wait for the boss to wake up?” Ikaris asked, turning to her.

“There's no need for that. He's already out of danger. I'm confident about it. Besides, I abandoned a patient's surgery to hurry here. Her case is a very difficult one. I need to be there as soon as possible, let's see if she can make it out alive,” Kristen explained with a calm smile, stylishly dismissing them.

“Thanks for rushing here immediately you were called. I was just agitated, that's why I took it out on you. Thank you,” Ikaris whispered, trying to indirectly apologize to her because he yelled at her when she showed up late.
