HIDDEN EMOTIONS

Alex immediately frowned in disapproval.

“I'm his father, his life is more important to me than anyone else. Do you think I will let anything happen to my son?” Alex said, standing up from the bed.

There was probably a different way to talk to kids, but Alex doesn't know of that, making him discuss with his children as fellow adults, never mincing his words.

“I was not trying to be a jinx. I was merely worried about him,” Ariella muttered, going to sit beside Ariel on the bed.

Alex ignored her unhappy frown and walked into his shower, taking a warm bath. He had expended a lot of energy channeling the powers he meticulously cultivated over the years to Ariel, weakening him. His cultivation base also became shaky due to the risky ritual he carried out.

“I hope we don't get another emergency,” Alex muttered, knowing that he was not in any condition to face otherworldly creatures or evil gods in his current condition.
