The man chuckled and looked at Alex. “Why don't you take a guess, benefactor? I'm certainly not your enemy.” he said and laughed lightly, annoying Alex the more. Alex quickly ran into the underground space where he left the boy. The space around was turbulent, showing that powerful spells and formations went off recently in the area. Alex was immediately more alarmed than ever. “Little one, where are you?” He shouted, but there was no sound forthcoming to show the location of the pitiful teenage demon. The temple was in disarray, even more than it was when it was blasted by Alex's energy. There were candle stands, furniture, and statues scattered everywhere, no single space to walk through. There was also a high probability that the boy was buried somewhere beneath the pile of rubble, dirt, and broken furniture, making Alex incredibly worried. Alex stood quietly, watching the environment like a hawk. He could see a mountain in the distance, and even without spreading his spiritual energy, he noticed a few unmarked graves in the so called abandoned construction site, owned by a bankrupt small scale company. Achlys slipped down Alex’s back, and got on his feet. He walked to an abandoned fork lift and the trailer hitched to it with a frown on his face. “Bang-fang construction?” He whispered, rubbing his fingers against the body of the trailer. “Does it mean this ruin is owned by an Asian company?” Achlys asked again, turning to Alex. Alex scoffed coldly, his face showing how ridiculous he thought the idea was. Alex walked around the place, there were more trailers and abandoned containers used to pack small tools, but that wasn't what he was looking for so he ignored them. The moment Alex went down, swishing sounds emanated from the hole in quick successions, followed by his gasp of shock. “I knew it, but you just won't listen.” Achlys said, and ran his fingers through his hair in frustration. He made a few hand signals while channelling his energy, and two paper puppets appeared before him. He drew some symbols on them using his golden energy and threw them down into the hole after Alex. He shut his eyes tightly as his spiritual consciousness communicated with the puppets to know the situation of things in the hole. He suddenly coughed up blood and opened his eyes. “That serious? Even the paper puppets got burnt alongside my spiritual energy, the malicious aura is too strong. Damn it!” He cursed out loud and hit some points on how chest using two of his fingers, sealing the meridian that burst open due to the backlash he received when the puppets got burnt. He circulated his energy for a full revolution and jumped into the hole, going after Alex.

But the horrifying situation which vividly played out in Alex's mind didn't happen. Achlys casually raised his sword at the last minute, stopping the incoming axe. Alex sighed in relief and touched his chest where his heart was still beating erratically. But that small victory seemed to have set off a fire. The fight immediately broke out to Alex’s dismay, and an array of zombies immediately came for Achlys, trapping him. Alex intensified his efforts to hack away at the chains and webs, feeling somewhat disoriented as he watched Achlys pick them off one by one, all on his own. “These things don't die easily. Fine then, the situation can only get more bloody from now on.” Achlys muttered coldly and a black mask appeared on his face, and gloves covered his hands. “Focus on the chest or chopping off their heads. That's the only way to kill an undead creature. Try your best to hold them off as much as possible, I will join you soon.” Alex instructed, chopping away at the spiritual cag

Before Alex's brain could fully process what happened, the arrow left the bow under the full glare of Alex’s eyes. The arrow which turned a fiery gold mid air hit a spot, and the cobwebs immediately scattered, alongside the chains. Alex sighed in relief, not knowing whether he's happy because Achlys didn't betray him, or because he was finally free from his restrictions. Spiritual energy rushed back to his meridians without the restrictions holding him back, making him giddy. He quickly raised his saint Michael's sword, feeling raw power course through it. “That weapon of yours makes me uncomfortable.” Achlys whispered in between labored gasps. Alex quickly called the weapon back, swapping it for his twin shadow daggers which he assumed Achlys would be more comfortable with since it embodied darkness. Alex stared down at Achlys with a deep frown. “The poison doesn't seem to be from down there. Could it be that he had been living with the poison all along?” He quickly made a cut on Achlys’ fingers and drew out a little bit of blood. “This is serious, I can only suppress it for a while. It will take a whole lot more to completely get rid of it.”Alex quickly began his treatment, using multiple methods to help him. He first fed him a pill, then an elixir before using acupuncture to expel some of the poison. “I need to find a better solution. The poison already corroded some parts of his body, thereby delaying his cultivation. There should be more room for improvement.”Alex sighed heavily. “Why is it that special children often suffer lots of misfortune? Luz, Aridan, the twins, and even my little boy, Kaiser. And now there's Achlys. Going to the dark hollow strip can't wait anymore. I need to cure Ariella's ice jade physique and also help this thick headed one detoxify the poison
