The man chuckled and looked at Alex.

“Why don't you take a guess, benefactor? I'm certainly not your enemy.” he said and laughed lightly, annoying Alex the more.

Alex scrutinized him coldly.

“What do you want? If you merely wanted to help my boy, you would have been long gone.”

The man smiled and looked at Alex.

“Forget about me, let's talk about this little mountain village you just came out from.”

Alex kept scrutinizing him carefully, watching out for the slightest signs of foul play. Even though the man bore the energy of a seasoned killer, he wasn't deranged or tainted by bloodlust in any kind of way. Which meant that he was not an evil cultivator, and the darkness aura around him wasn't all that strong.
