The moment Alex went down, swishing sounds emanated from the hole in quick successions, followed by his gasp of shock. “I knew it, but you just won't listen.” Achlys said, and ran his fingers through his hair in frustration. He made a few hand signals while channelling his energy, and two paper puppets appeared before him. He drew some symbols on them using his golden energy and threw them down into the hole after Alex. He shut his eyes tightly as his spiritual consciousness communicated with the puppets to know the situation of things in the hole. He suddenly coughed up blood and opened his eyes. “That serious? Even the paper puppets got burnt alongside my spiritual energy, the malicious aura is too strong. Damn it!” He cursed out loud and hit some points on how chest using two of his fingers, sealing the meridian that burst open due to the backlash he received when the puppets got burnt. He circulated his energy for a full revolution and jumped into the hole, going after Alex.
But the horrifying situation which vividly played out in Alex's mind didn't happen. Achlys casually raised his sword at the last minute, stopping the incoming axe. Alex sighed in relief and touched his chest where his heart was still beating erratically. But that small victory seemed to have set off a fire. The fight immediately broke out to Alex’s dismay, and an array of zombies immediately came for Achlys, trapping him. Alex intensified his efforts to hack away at the chains and webs, feeling somewhat disoriented as he watched Achlys pick them off one by one, all on his own. “These things don't die easily. Fine then, the situation can only get more bloody from now on.” Achlys muttered coldly and a black mask appeared on his face, and gloves covered his hands. “Focus on the chest or chopping off their heads. That's the only way to kill an undead creature. Try your best to hold them off as much as possible, I will join you soon.” Alex instructed, chopping away at the spiritual cag
Before Alex's brain could fully process what happened, the arrow left the bow under the full glare of Alex’s eyes. The arrow which turned a fiery gold mid air hit a spot, and the cobwebs immediately scattered, alongside the chains. Alex sighed in relief, not knowing whether he's happy because Achlys didn't betray him, or because he was finally free from his restrictions. Spiritual energy rushed back to his meridians without the restrictions holding him back, making him giddy. He quickly raised his saint Michael's sword, feeling raw power course through it. “That weapon of yours makes me uncomfortable.” Achlys whispered in between labored gasps. Alex quickly called the weapon back, swapping it for his twin shadow daggers which he assumed Achlys would be more comfortable with since it embodied darkness. He quickly joined the fray, killing multiple creatures with one clean swipe. His dagger kept flying around, slashing them down. It got to a point that Achlys had to move away and squ
Alex stared down at Achlys with a deep frown. “The poison doesn't seem to be from down there. Could it be that he had been living with the poison all along?” He quickly made a cut on Achlys’ fingers and drew out a little bit of blood. “This is serious, I can only suppress it for a while. It will take a whole lot more to completely get rid of it.”Alex quickly began his treatment, using multiple methods to help him. He first fed him a pill, then an elixir before using acupuncture to expel some of the poison. “I need to find a better solution. The poison already corroded some parts of his body, thereby delaying his cultivation. There should be more room for improvement.”Alex sighed heavily. “Why is it that special children often suffer lots of misfortune? Luz, Aridan, the twins, and even my little boy, Kaiser. And now there's Achlys. Going to the dark hollow strip can't wait anymore. I need to cure Ariella's ice jade physique and also help this thick headed one detoxify the poison
Nether energy as cold as the raw steels of hell seeped out of the door, flowing towards him. The howl of a fiend followed and grey smoke began to twist and swirl around, rushing towards him. He furrowed his brows and quickly summoned his protective artifact. “Awooo! Whooo!” The cold air kept whooshing around in the room, swirling steadily towards the ceiling. When it reached a high crescendo, it dived outside the door, flowing furiously towards Alex. He raised his sword, ready to fight whatever it was that was attacking him within the grey smoke. The silhouette of a bloodied woman in the middle of the hurricane caught his eye, causing the frown on his face to deepen. He immediately summoned various talismans and artifacts and hurled it towards the entity. A high pitched feminine shriek followed the attack, letting him know that he didn't miss the target. “It's truly a ghost, what a powerful one. Her resentment must be very deep. Even after all these years, her soul and will didn'
Alex chuckled as he watched the sassy ghost struggle in futility inside the soul trapping jar. “I warned you, didn't I? Being in my bad books won't do you any good? How's that for a start? Enjoy your captivity.” His mocking words seemed to infuriate the ghost even more, making her intensify her struggles. “Just give up, it's useless. You can't set yourself free from it. I told you to let us discuss in a peaceful manner, in a way that is mutually beneficial, but you chose to overestimate your abilities. Be quiet while I search your memories.” He whispered, watching the ghost panic. “No, you can't do that. Just ask me whatever you want, I will answer honestly. What if you hurt me while trying to search out the memories? It could also backfire, making you get hurt. So,...”Alex smirked at her and squat down. “You don't have to worry about my well being, I'm sure you would be the happiest if I suffer a backlash and die. Besides, it's not as if I can trust anything that comes out of y
“You can scream from now till next year, but I won't buy your act.” The rude ghost shouted back, not caring about his confusion. ‘Does this mean that someone from the Winthrop family is conniving with them? Winthrop and Baltimore, why are these two families problematic? But someone from Winthrop wouldn't have my aura and exact genes? What in hell's name is going on? This isn't right.’He picked up the soul trapping jar where he locked the ghost up and made a quick exit. “You, where are you taking me?”Alex looked at the Jar in his hands and hissed in anger. “You're so noisy. Get lost.” He muttered and sent her into the storage ring where he stores relics and artifacts. He returned to see Achlys already sitting cross legged, trying to regulate his internal energy flow. “Do you know you were poisoned?” Alex asked abruptly, making him open his eyes. “Yes, but unfortunately, I don't know how to cure it. All the methods I have found so far could only suppress it, making me get weaker
Let your plans be dark and impenetrable as night, and when you strike, fall like a thunderbolt - (the art of war)******Alexander Winthrop hit his hands against the steering wheel, fuming as he drove furiously. The thing he hated the most were idiots that tried to take advantage of others, thinking they were wise.He had registered his pharmaceutical company just last month and his two products had taken the world by storm, raking in a shit load of profits. But before he could enjoy the fruits of his months of painstaking research, the director of the agency for food and drug administration called him in for a chat, claiming that the registration of his company was improperly done, despite the fact that Alex had provided every single document required. He had claimed that he needed to see the formula, insisting that such miraculous drugs that can cure leukemia and skin cancer must definitely have side effects in the future. What nonsense! They were simply shocked by the effectiveness
