Chapter 2

“Where is that worm!” a blond youth with amazing features, cruel eyes and a scowl on his face stormed out from a room. He was none other than Maximus' half brother; Daniel Akkris Gayle.

“Worm!!” he screamed, making the castle ground shake as his earth ability leaked out.

“Your Highness!” an old man came up to the raging Daniel.

“Where is that worm? I need my room clean.” Daniel said with the air of a spoilt child.

“Prince Maximus is still at the academy. He's not home yet.” the old butler answered. His face was expressionless as if none of these mattered to him.

“Don't call that bastard by the same title as me.” Daniel was about throwing a tantrum when the butler used his telekinetic ability to lift him up and left him hanging on air. He then squinted his eyes and whispered to the Prince with all seriousness.

“You are being trained to be the next king, I understand we have to keep up this childish charade so as to make the king less suspicious of you of anything, but don't you get into character when there's none around.”

The raging prince stopped squirming as if his earlier childish tantrum was a lie. His face became expressionless and his eyes were became cold and devoid of all emotions. He didn't look like the spoilt child like the moment before.

“Be careful old man, there are eyes everywhere.” said Daniel.

“I am only doing what I can to protect your image or the people might think of you unfit to rule them.” the old butler then gently placed the prince on the floor. Daniel straightened his suit and then started coldly at the old butler.

“Do this next time and I will strip you of your ability as well as your life.” his tone and eyes showed he wasn't bluffing. The old butler bowed in apology which the prijce acknowledged with a nod.

“How is the plan coming along against that filth?” he questioned as he strolled towards the courtyard with the old butler walking behind him.

“I still don't understand why you feel threatened by a commoner who has no talent whatsoever. You have already taken out the one deemed as an obstacle.” the butler said with his head still bowed. He behaved like a kitten in front of a lion.

“His mother was never an obstacle, I just took her out for my mother to obtain the full love of the King. Unfortunately it was for naught as the king never even loved that worm's mother.” he smiled. “But as he's still my brother, he's a threat to me and my ascension to power.” Daniel stopped and turned around to face the old butler.

“Abram, I want that worm dead in two days, understand?” he said to the butler.

“As you wish your highness. I will contact our reliable friend to carry out your order.” said the butler.

*grunt* “Get to it then, but before that, I need you to call Annie to my room.”

“As you command, your highness.”

Maximus walked into the library but was stopped by the librarian.

“What are you doing here?” he questioned. He was a short muscular man with bald hair, it was already known that he is a peak master-rank earth ability user. Maximus was stomped, although this was his first time in the library but he didn't expect to be stopped and queried like a criminal.

“I am here to study Sir.” Maximus answered with a frown on his face, he knew the man simply wanted to make trouble for him.

“Study!?, That's the best joke I have heard in ages.” he laughed like it was an absurd idea which left Maximus dumbfounded, what's so funny about him coming to the library to study.

“What's so funny Sir?” he asked as his frown deepens.

“Just go in and do whatever you came here to do, but first you will have to pay one gold coin dramus.” the man said with a mischievous smile on his rough face.

“What!? The fee is five silver coins dramus per person, which is exactly what I have.” Maximus emptied his pocket and brought out five silver coins dramus and ten copper coins dramus. Dramus was the currency of Kera kingdom. A hundred copper coin dramus was equaled to one silver coin dramus, a hundred silver coin dramus equaled to a gold coin dramus.

“In your case it is different. But since I am in a good mood, I will take this from you.” he took all the coins Maximus had laid on the table.

“Now either you go in and do what you came here to do or leave.” he said in a stern voice. Maximus walked past him into the inner hall. He went directly to the history department and took out a book, then went to a quiet place and sat. He flipped the book till he found exactly what he was looking for.

“It is said here that the first awakening occurred on the peak of mount Borios where an abundant amount of mana surged forth from the depth of the mountain core, evolving the cells of the humans. The mana polluted the air and caused humans in Kera to evolve.” Maximus' face beamed as he closed the book and returned it to the shelf.

“Mother was right, the library does help, I should have come here a long time ago.” Just then a bell rang, signalling the end of the session and for the readers to leave the library.

“I guess I just have to get over to mount Borios and my problem is over.” he said as he returned the book back to the shelf.

“But first, I have to get to work or Daniel will use it as an opportunity to make trouble for me.”

Maximus had just walked into the gigantic company building when a fellow messenger ran to him.

“Maximus, you have to come quickly.” the man, around twenty years of age with a ruddy and handsome face, tall and lean, he would have made an excellent model if not for the fact he was a commoner and had no affinity with any element, he could only settle for the work of a messenger.

“What's wrong Ben? Why the hurry?” Maximus asked a bit flustered.

“No questions but if you must know, Prince Daniel just brought in your girlfriend Amelia, they were holding hands and acting all lovey dovey.” the man responded while pulling Maximus along with him.

“WHAT!?” Maximus screamed and rushed past Ben, he didn't bother to go through the stairs, he went straight to the elevator, got into it and pressed a button which prompt the elevator to take him to the top.

Maximus got out from the elevator and rushed straight to Daniel's office, he barged into the office but got rooted at the spot as he saw his girlfriend and Daniel kissing and cuddling each other.

“DANIELLLL!!” Maximus roared like a wounded lion, but his girlfriend Amelia simply looked at him without remorse for her betrayal.

“Darling, please remove this cockroach, his presence is soiling the mood.” she said in a seductive tone. Maximus was crushed by her words, but then anger boiled up in his heart and without thinking, Maximus launched towards Daniel who wasn't actually expecting it, he gave him a right hook but before he could make a follow-up Daniel sent him flying outside the office with his earth ability. Maximus stood up, he felt something seeking release and then he opened his mouth and vomited a mouthful of blood.

“Be glad I took fancy in your slut of a girlfriend, and you should also be glad I will not kill you for your disrespect just now. So be a good boy and go downstairs, do your job and go home.” Daniel stood inside his office with a smirk on his face. Maximus could not handle the pain and heartbreak raking his body, he slumped and succumbed to the awaiting hands of eternal darkness.

Maximus found himself in a throne room. It's walls were made the purest gold. Six golden thrones were placed on a podium and seated on these thrones were; a man with golden hair and golden skin with batlike wings on his back, man with rippling muscles and black hair, a man with a scowl on his face and red blood hair, a golden cat who was playing with a golden coin, a man with a helmet that has two horns and he had a mischievous smile on his face, and lastly a man dressed in regal clothes with a sword at his waist.

“Is this the afterlife!?” Maximus asked a bit fearful, all these beings exhibited an aura of great authority and power, more powerful than his father who was saint rank earth ability.

“Fear not boy.” the golden skinned man said.

“We are the deities of your world. This is not the afterlife, this is a much holier place.” he continued.

Deities? Holier place? Maximus couldn't wrap his head around this for a second or so.

“We shall grant you power beyond your wildest dream.” the mischievous man said this time, but Maximus wasn't buying it all.

“What do you want?” he asked them, there was no way they will bring him here just to give him gift out of the goodness of their hearts. Rather than the mischievous man to be annoyed, he smiled instead.

“I like this one. He is better than that imbecile that was granted the Shazam power seventy years ago.” although the mischievous man words sounded like a compliment but he didn't answer Maximus' question.

“What we want is simply.” the golden cat spoke this time. Maximus was a bit taken aback seeing a cat speak, but he didn't let it show on his face.

“And that is?” he enquired.

“We want you to carry on our legacy and become the strongest human on earth.” the man in regal clothing said.

“Huh??? How will I do that when I do not even have any ability?” Maximus replied a bit bewildered.

“Those child's play useless ability are what you desire?” the golden haired man said then burst into laughter.

“Boy we offer you something much more valuable than that of your world, we offer you the powers of the deities and gods. You only have to use this power to rise and become the most powerful human in your world. Do you accept?” the muscular man said with a scowl on his face.

“Well, anything is better than nothing I guess, so Yes I accept.” Maximus agreed.

“Good. A wise choice. You shall receive the powers of the six deities and gods, unlike the Shazam power that was granted by the other six gods to a fellow human, this power we grant you will become a passive ability, not an active one. Now awaken human, and become one with the Ozilla Gold System.” the golden cat said and then there was a bright light as Maximus form faded from the throne room.

“Do you think he can accomplish the mission?” the golden haired man said.

“Yes, I know he can and he will. We have been watching him ever since he was born, he is not the type to give up nor shed tears. The system we granted him will undoubtedly make him the most powerful human on earth.”...
