Charity’s Outburst

Emily pretended to be looking at one of the shoes, she didn’t want Sam to see her face or his eyes meeting with hers.

As she thought about his question, she had nothing to do that evening, but going on a date with Sam could trigger what she was trying to avoid now that she was his secretary.

However, rejecting him would also seem awkward and uncomfortable. It wasn’t as if she didn’t like Sam, if he wasn’t her boss; she wouldn’t even think twice on the question.

Emily knew Sam would have thought about it too, that having an affair with his secretary was unprofessional; maybe he had let his emotions take over, and Emily wasn’t really ready to give in.

“I… I think I do, yeah,” Emily took one of the shoes and faced Sam, but she wasn’t staring at him, she was pretending to admire the shoe.
