Desperate Times

Sam dropped the phone on his desk as if he didn’t need the use of it anymore, his heart was beating faster than normal and he didn’t know exactly why.

Maybe because he was a good person or because of the pity he had developed for Charity after he rejected her love. But why would Amelia kidnap Charity just to see him, or wasn’t it Amelia? Sam thought, breathing heavily as he brooded about all what just happened within the last five minutes.

After some few minutes, he found himself lost in thoughts again and didn’t know when Victoria Blunt, his new secretary, came into his office.

“Mr. Sam, there’s someone here to see you.” Victoria announced, holding her hands together in front of her like an innocent child.
