“I couldn’t ask him directly, cause I thought it might ruin the moment. But, your Dad spoke like he was going to die very soon, why’s that?” Emily’s worry was written all over her face. Sam wasn’t expecting that question, he was thinking Emily would ask something about Charity’s death or Ethan’s approval. However, anybody would have observed it, Sam thought it was obvious but it seems Emily just wanted to hear it from him. “Yes, he is going to die soon,” Sam resumed looking out the window, feeling his heart squeeze as he spoke the words. He was really going to miss his dad, but he was always trying not to think about it and the situations he had been through the past few weeks have helped keep the thought out of his mind, but now that Emily had brought it back; it was so heart wrecking. Losing Ethan would also make him the target by the rest of the family who wanted Ethan’s corporation, however; he’d have Clinton and maybe Ariana supporting him. Emily was startled by Sam’s reluc
Sam stood immediately and caught Emily as she fell, preventing her from hitting her head on the hard floor. She landed on his arms, unconscious; Sam was instantly dumbfounded, she didn’t show any sign of weakness or distress and just in the blink of an eye, she was lying in his arms unconscious. “Guards!!!” Sam yelled, his voice loud but shaky and his expression covered in despair and confusion. What could be happening? Just two weeks of peace and now another issue had come up, and it looked as if it was life threatening. It would be so heartbreaking if the woman he was trying all his life to protect died beside him without anybody’s intervention. The guards rushed to where Sam was and helped him carry Emily, “Quickly, to the car, we need to get to the hospital as fast as we can, all of the guards follows me except my butler and one house security guard,” Sam yelled, following behind the men that carried Emily, while the others rushed to fulfill his instructions. “Why always me!”
“He sent you, didn’t he?” Sam whispered, his heartbeat rising steadily, Jonathan is back! And he’d fulfill his promises; just when he thought everything was going peaceful, Jonathan was planning to strike again behind the scenes. He was supposed to be ready for Jonathan's strike, but because of the assumption of peace, Sam was caught off guard once again. “I’ve no idea who that is, but you’ll see who sent me, soon.” Smith glanced at the road for a split second whilst still pointing the gun at Sam, they were at the location. Sam was so sure that it was Jonathan who sent Smith, who else could? He couldn’t help but wonder when Jonathan brainwashed Smith, how much did Jonathan offer him? Sam thought. “I’ll pay you ten times what your hirer offered you, Smith; if you betray him right here and now. This is an opportunity of a lifetime and you know I don’t bluff,” Sam looked dead serious at Smith, if he couldn’t solve problems with his mouth, his money should solve it for him. The car c
“Elena!!!” Sam yelled, feeling a sudden thud in his chest with his hand tied behind his back and a gun pointing to his head. Smith hid his shock, glanced at Elena from behind Sam, his hands were already getting sweaty holding the weapon for a long period of time. Especially now that Sam knew the truth, if Elena found out about that then his parents would be visiting God’s kingdom. Smith didn’t know anything about Elena, he didn’t even know Elena’s name was Elena. All he knew was that Elena was the one behind all his problems, and she told him about Ethan’s corporation, not the full details but she let him know that it was what they needed from Sam. Elena scoffed and walked down the few steps of the bungalow to meet with Sam. She was feeling so happy, her plan was working so perfectly. This is what she’d have done in the first place, instead of allowing Jonathan to waste away an innocent girl’s life. She signaled to the driver who was carrying Emily, and he walked past Sam and Smi
The tension in the small room increased and Sam squeezed his fists tight, he was certain that Elena was bluffing, there was no way he’d even use Emily’s life to guess if Elena was being serious or not. Elena’s unrecognizable guard came forward and removed the sack cloth from Emily’s head allowing the smell of debris to hit her nostrils. The first person she saw was Sam, and she immediately knew what was happening, for a moment there; she wasn’t entirely awake till the guard removed the sack cloth. Emily tried getting up from the chair only to discover she had been tied to it, she looked back and shivered when she saw Elena, she knew who Elena Cole was; how wouldn’t she, after working for Ethan for five years. Emily had never liked Elena even in previous years, although it was part of the fact that Elena was always thinking she’d try and seduce or steal her husband, there was a time Elena even threatened her. “You’ll be fine, Em. Just stay calm,” Sam assured her when he noticed he
(Meanwhile….)Derek paced the room back and forth, it was the same room they always had their meetings; Jonathan was also there, occupying one of the dining chairs the room had while he sipped a beer. Elena had told them to wait in the room, if Sam agreed to transfer the ownership of Ethan’s corporation she’d give them a call so the next process would be done, but however, it was almost two hours now and there hadn’t been any call from Elena. Derek was starting to run out of patience, and he was getting uncomfortable with all of these acts, Jonathan had been compromised, if Elena didn’t get the right answer from Sam, she’d also be compromised, which means; one day, Sam would expose them to the police for threat and for killing his ex personal assistant. Derek knew that Sam would have been told that Jonathan was in with them, and he was the one behind all these threats. If Elena’s approach didn’t work, he would be in a mess. “Take a chill, Derek, don’t you trust your mother?” Jonat
(Somewhere in Between) “Drive a little faster, Shawn,” Clinton frowned, he was sitting in the front of one the Landrovers that his security team uses for operations. Sam had tapped the button some few minutes ago and he had to get there as soon as possible. He had been investigating the case of Jonathan for a while now without finding anything suspicious apart from the fact that Jonathan was always visiting Derek, and Elena also. That alone was enough to deduce that something was going on, but he couldn’t just jump into conclusions that Jonathan and Elena was plotting to take Ethan’s corporation from Sam and give it to Derek. It was something so obvious since it was the same thing Elena and Derek wants to do, but doing it in such a way was what Clinton was finding hard to believe. “We would be there in fifteen to twenty sir, no matter how fast I drive,” the driver responded but he also increased his speed as instructed. Clinton nodded, and continued staring at the road, luckily
Clinton froze for a few seconds staring at Sam with a stunned look, and his mouth agape; he slowly glanced around the room and his eyes met with Elena lying in a pool of blood beside the chair Emily was tied to, she also looked like she was dead. “Emily too?” Clinton gasped, walking over to the scene, he couldn’t believe his eyes, what the fuck happened here? He thought. “No, no; Emily’s probably fine, she passed out due to fear, I need to get her to the hospital, but I just needed to wait for you to come,” Sam looked at his unconscious fiancée, admiring her even though she looked lifeless. Her red hair had covered most of her face, he sighed; if it wasn’t for Smith, he’d have been dead by now. He owed his life to him now, but it seemed what Smith’s first murder had traumatized him. Clinton squatted beside Elena’s dead body, just like Sam, he didn’t like Elena but he never wished for her to die, seeing her in a pool of blood broke his heart, not exactly because of who she was, but
