“I couldn’t ask him directly, cause I thought it might ruin the moment. But, your Dad spoke like he was going to die very soon, why’s that?” Emily’s worry was written all over her face.

Sam wasn’t expecting that question, he was thinking Emily would ask something about Charity’s death or Ethan’s approval.
