The Voice Note

“What’s going on doc?” Sam asked as soon as they walked into the ICU, he saw Charity laying on a bed with all the different life support machines beeping while some read her heart rate.

“Thought you’d never ask, Mr. Sam, but I’m sure it’d be best if you heard directly from her,” the doctor answered, walking straight to the bed, he was just some inches away when the life machine made a loud sound.

The sound was loud and continued, and only the doctor understood it, he ran the rest of the inches to the bed and held Charity, trying to take several medical measures to keep her stable but sadly he was too late.

The machine sound went louder than normal then came to an abrupt stop, and the ICU went silent like a grave yard. Sam and Emily stood inches away from the bed, watching the scene like it was a movie.
