Chapter 10- " Wealth over Riches."

Nelson's expression turned serious as he reached for his phone. He quickly dialed Amelia's number, hoping to confirm her presence at the party and relay his message.

"Hello, Amelia? It's Nelson," he said, his voice firm yet composed. "Are you already at the party? I need to speak with you about something important."

Amelia, who was attending the party in a separate area, picked up the call. "Yes, Nelson, I'm here. What's the matter?"

Nelson took a moment to gather his thoughts before continuing. "Listen, Amelia, I've just witnessed Dave pulling off his usual tricks with the manager.

It's time we put an end to his deceptive ways. When you arrive, I want you to be on your best behavior, but I also want you to observe everything closely."

Amelia's curiosity piqued as she listened intently. "What do you have in mind, Nelson?"

A determined tone resonated in Nelson's voice as he replied, "I want to expose Dave for who he really is.

Let everyone see his true colors. But for that, we need evidence. Watch his interactions, observe his behavior closely, and be ready to share what you see. We can't let him continue deceiving people."

Amelia understood the gravity of the situation and the importance of their actions. "You can count on me, Nelson. I'll keep a close eye on Dave and document anything suspicious or incriminating."

Nelson expressed his gratitude. "Thank you, Amelia. Together, we can make a difference and ensure that the truth prevails. But remember, we must maintain our composure and handle this with tact. Let's not stoop to Dave's level. We'll expose him through undeniable evidence."

Amelia nodded, her determination matching Nelson's. "I understand, Nelson. We'll approach this strategically and expose Dave's deceit without compromising our own integrity."

With their plan in place, Nelson and Amelia ended their conversation.

"Now let's see if he's truly the son of the president." Nelson said this to Madam Charlotte and grinned.

"I'm not trusting what you're saying, Nelson". Madam Charlotte said

"What's happening?"

I was informed by Miss Lawrencia that Dave isn't the son of the president,so why should you worry over this, Madame Charlotte?

"What?" Madame Charlotte laughed and exhaled.

"It's been known by many now, and I think we should beg him and pretend we regret everything we did to him.

"I don't believe this, Madame Charlotte, that poor Dave can't have such a position.

Nelson groaned loudly.

"Madam Charlotte,I know what you did was terrible, but your daughter and I are in love now."

"I know I'm right; I'm just feeling scared he might act wild over us when he becomes the next heir."

Madam Charlotte said and adjusted herself in her dress. She moved a bit closer to Nelson and said, "Let the brain work when it comes to situations like this."

"Guess, it's another war between Dave and I."

Nelson murmured to himself, and as he stood still and watched Madam Charlotte leave,he heard a familiar voice that sounded through his ears.

"Greetings to you, Nelson. I hope you're feeling happy to be here once again."

Gracia echoed from another dimension of the room, and Nelson turned. "Oh, Mr. Gracia,it's a pleasure being here. You're looking nice in this suit of yours."

Nelson exclaimed, staring at Gracia's outfit with a smile on his face.

"You're also not looking bad, though; where are my mother-in-law and your wife?"

Gracia,Mrs.Charlotte's elder daughter's husband, asked with his hands pulled over his beard. Oh, my wife is with Miss Alice, the daughter of the man that owns the Shopping Mall across the country." Nelson said.

I see! " Actually, "Emily is on her way for a meeting with her workers; she will soon be in." "Let's make it to the end and get ourselves a bottle of wine to drink." Gracia said with a smile. "

Nelson nodded and walked away with Gracia to the drinking bar.

"Serve me with the expensive alcohol you have here, Gracia said! "I'm sorry, sir,but the expensive wine is only meant for Mr. President and his folks."

"Do you know who I am? How dare you say such trash to me?"

"Come on,serve us with the wine, and stop those silly talks."

The waiter looked at Nelson and chuckled. Aren't you the one who had a quarrel with Master Dave?".

"You should even start walking away because the guard will deal with you sadistically if you misbehave."

The waiter added it and turned to his counter. I pity you, young man."

"I wonder how you could be so easily fooled by that wretched man you call a master."

Nelson said, and the waiter turned to look at him in the most shocked way.

"Nelson, watch your mouth; anything can happen; just calm down first."

Nelson's words hung in the air as a tense silence filled the room. Gracia looked at him again with surprise, unsure of how to respond. Sensing the tension, Nelson quickly realized the gravity of his words and regretted his outburst.

"I apologize, Gracia. I shouldn't have spoken like that," Nelson said, his voice filled with remorse. "It was uncalled for, and I'm truly sorry."

Gracia nodded, accepting the apology. "Apology accepted, Nelson. Let's not dwell on it. We're here to enjoy ourselves, remember?"

Nelson nodded, grateful for Gracia's understanding. He knew he had let his emotions get the better of him and vowed to maintain composure for the rest of the evening.

As they settled down at the bar, their conversation shifted to lighter topics. They talked about their families and upcoming events and shared a few lighthearted jokes. The atmosphere gradually lightened, and both men began to relax. "I feel so good and proud to be a son-in-law of Madam Charlotte." "Same as me; in fact, it's a pleasure". Gracia said.

As Nelson took a sip of his wine, he noticed Dave and the manager across the room. They seemed to be engaged in a conversation, and Nelson couldn't help but chuckle to himself.

"Hey, Gracia, take a look over there," Nelson said, nodding towards Dave and the manager. "It seems like Dave has managed to charm his way into the manager's attention. I wonder if he borrowed those fancy clothes he's wearing."

Gracia followed Nelson's gaze and let out a laugh. "You're right, Nelson. It's hard to believe that anyone would be fooled by Dave's antics. Maybe he found a way to convince the manager that he's a person of importance. But we know better, don't we?"

Nelson grinned and nodded in agreement. "Absolutely. We've seen through his act before. It's just amusing to see him trying to pull off his tricks once again. I suppose some people are more easily fooled than others."

As they watched Dave and the manager continue their conversation, their amusement grew. They exchanged knowing glances, sharing an unspoken understanding of Dave's true nature.

"Well, let's hope the manager realizes sooner rather than later that he's being taken for a ride," Gracia said, still amused. "It's entertaining to watch from a distance, but I wouldn't want to be in his shoes when the truth eventually comes out."

Nelson nodded in agreement, taking another sip of his wine. "Indeed. The truth has a way of revealing itself in due time. Until then, let's enjoy our evening and leave Dave to his charades. It's not worth our energy."

Just as they were still having conversations,Emily arrived at the bar. The rich lady, adorned in a stunning emerald green gown, gracefully approached her husband and sister's partner at the President's party.

A fusion of silk and chiffon, the dress beautifully hugged her curves as she made her way towards the gentlemen. Her jewelry, made of gold and diamonds, caught the light of the chandeliers, adding to the dazzling effect.

"I think I'm looking good in this outfit. People are staring at me a lot.".

She muttered to herself.

Her hair was styled into soft waves and elegantly tied back, revealing her beautifully manicured neck. Her makeup was subtle yet flawless, highlighting her high cheekbones and almond-shaped eyes.

As she reached her husband and brother-in-law, she flashed them an engaging smile before delving into the conversation. The gentlemen were both mesmerized by her looks and charm as she shared anecdotes of her latest charitable endeavors with them.

"Welcome sweetheart".

Gracia said with a beam that he couldn't get over the stunning looks of his wife.

"Wow, Emily, you're just as beautiful as Amelia, your younger sister."

Nelson added.

"Thank you, darling. I can sense the feeling over here." Is Mr.President ready to declare his statement, or is it already done?"

Emily curiously asked

"Well, I guess he has a lot to do. After the warm greetings,he presented a whole lot, and after that, that poor ex-husband of your sister was seen hovering around him."

"Mmmm, Rumors have it that he's the President's son, but I don't believe this drama, Emily said.

"Perfectly said; that's the same way I was thinking."

Let's see what's going to happen next, since we are all in this county."

Gracia added and offered Emily a glass of wine to sip.

"Cheers to a happy life and wealth ".

Together with Gracia, Emelia spoke and beamed.

As the president made his way through the crowd, Anthony positioned himself strategically, ready to facilitate a smooth and impressive interaction.

With each step the president took, the atmosphere grew more electric. Anthony greeted the president with a respectful bow, his voice steady as he introduced himself.

"Mr. President, I am honored to be welcomed at your event. My name is Anthony Cruz, and I have the privilege of serving as the general manager of this prestigious establishment."

The president's eyes lit up with recognition. "Anthony Cruz? The son of Mr. Cruz, the renowned hotelier?" he inquired.

Anthony nodded, maintaining a confident yet humble demeanor. "Yes, Mr. President. It is an honor to carry on my father's legacy and contribute to the success of this hotel."

The president extended his hand with a genuine smile on his face. "I've heard great things about you, Anthony.

Your dedication and commitment to excellence are commendable."

Anthony shook the president's hand, gratitude and determination shining in his eyes. "Thank you, Mr. President. I strive to uphold the highest standards and create memorable experiences for our guests."

Nelson watched from a distance and seethed with anger and frustration. His plan to undermine the Manager's position has been thwarted, at least for now.

As the final moments of the event approached, Dave's father, the president, approached him with a proud smile on his face.

"That's my son. I'm so proud of you."

Mr.President said this before Dave got to where he stood.

"Dave, my son, you have done an exceptional job tonight. I couldn't be prouder," he said, his voice filled with genuine admiration.

"Your son is just a replica of you, Mr.President. I'm glad your son is finally back. My dad can't wait to see him."

Miss Alice said and drew closer to where Dave was.

Dave smiled, grateful for his father's support and Alice's remark.

Thank you, Dad. Your guidance and trust mean the world to me."

"I'm glad I met you in my life, Alice."

Dave said.

"What are friends for?"

"I appreciate everything, Dave; you're so bold and a true heir."

"Don't mention it, Dad; I also thank you very much for this day. I am so delighted to be by your side." Thanks for not unveiling the secret about us to the public. I still need some time to face my enemies."

Dave said this with a smile and hugged his Dad tightly.

"There's more to happen in the next Chapters of our lives, my son."
