Chapter 6-Pay the bills!

"Get to the table and arrest that silly man over there." The manager commanded, and the guards walked angrily to Dave's table.

Dave felt the weight of the situation as he stood surrounded by guards, their stern expressions making him feel trapped. The manager approached him, his face filled with skepticism and suspicion.

"Is it true that you can't afford the wine you bought? Are you faking it out here?"

Dave's face flushed with indignation at the accusation. He took a deep breath and looked the manager straight in the eyes.

"Young man,who allowed you in here?". The manager shouted at him.

"Waiter ,"Waiter! He yelled again, "Yes, boss, the waiter came quickly without wasting time.

"Why did you allow a beggar in here?" Are you giving him the wine for free?"

The manager shouted at the waiter, and he stood there in a confused way.

"This man is here to fake things; just look at him and see if he can afford this wine."

"That's not true at all. I can pay the bills. I'm not faking anything."

The manager crossed his arms, still unconvinced. He demanded immediate payment.

"Prove it then. Pay the bill right now." The manager said it angrily.

Dave reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone, ready to settle the bill through a digital payment app.

"Does he think we are joking here?"

Nelson said this and snatched the phone from Dave's hand.

"Oh look, he can't even afford a decent phone! Who's faking now? Probably trying to show off with expensive wine."

"Give me back my phone". Dave said, and as he was about to stand up for it, the guards shouted at him and allowed him to sit down.

You call this a phone?" You little rat, come for it if you're bold enough.

"Nelson said and laughed,

Afterward,he raised the phone above his head and hit it hard on the floor.

Nelson's cruel mockery hitDave like a punch to the gut.

He was left feeling confused and helpless, unsure of how he would pay the bill now that his phone lay broken on the floor.

"Are you paying for the wine you ordered, or should I call the cops".

"Sir, trust me, I can pay, but my phone is now broken."

"Are you serious at all, young man? If you're ready and you have money to pay for the wine, I think you should have money in your wallet".

"You don't understand; the money is on my phone, sir, and I was about to transfer".

"I think I should call the cops on you, young man".

"Don't waste time, manager; just call the cops. Amelia echoed from behind.

The manager barked at his guards, unable to muster an ounce of empathy. Dave's eyes were filled with fear, and his voice was trembling as he pleaded for understanding.

"Please, sir, I beg of you," Dave implored, his voice barely audible amidst the chaos of the room. "I've fallen on hard times and lost my job, but I can possibly afford to pay my bills all at once."

The manager's gaze remained cold and unmoving, his heart seemingly immune to the desperation that reverberated through the air.

He saw Dave as nothing more than another inconvenience, another statistic of unpaid bills.

"I couldn't care less about your sob story," he sneered, his voice laced with disdain. "Just like the others, you've had plenty of time to address your financial obligations, and now it's time to face the consequences."

Dave's eyes welled up with tears, his hope of finding compassion rapidly dwindling.

"Sir, I promise I will pay you the money," he pleaded, his voice breaking.

But his heartfelt plea fell upon deaf ears, drowned out by the harsh command of Nelson, "Keep quiet, you worthless fool!" His voice boomed, drowning out any remaining shred of hope that clung tightly to the man's trembling heart.

The guards, cold and detached from the situation, approached Dave with a sense of determination that chilled the atmosphere.

They grabbed him firmly by the arms, wrenching them behind his back, and began leading him away.

Dave struggled weakly, his pleas for mercy fading into the abyss of indifference that surrounded him.

Seeing an opportunity to exert his authority, the manager called for the police to lockDave in a room, preventing him from escaping.

The situation seemed dire, andDave's mind raced for a solution.

"Guards, help the cops take this silly man away from here."

The manager said nothing and turned.

But then, in a moment of clarity, Dave remembered something his father had given him: a black diamond card.

It had been an enigma, an object of mystery that his father had briefly mentioned but never fully explained.

With a surge of hope,Dave reached into his wallet and pulled out the black diamond card, which shimmered in the dim light of the establishment. He held it up for the manager to see.

"Manager, please wait. Don't let them take me away. Please.".

Dave said, and the manager turned back to him.

"What's it again?" I have a lot to accomplish, young man."

The manager's eyes widened, and his expression changed from skepticism to awe.

"You have the black diamond card?

"Where did you get this? This card is not meant for anyone at all.

The manager said that, and Nelson turned to look at him in a confused way.

"Can't you see that this man is trying to defend himself? He might have stolen this, manager?" Let the cops punish him."

Nelson said it in an angry manner.

Dave looked at Nelson with determination in his eyes, refusing to be intimidated any longer.

"Listen here, Nelson. This card is not stolen. It's mine, given to me by my father. I don't owe you any explanation, but I can assure you, I can pay my bills and much more."

Dave, intrigued by the mention of the black diamond card, approached Dave cautiously.

"If what you're saying is true, then prove it. Show me what this card can do," Dave said, his curiosity piqued.

Dave took a deep breath, realizing that this was his chance to turn the situation around.

He knew he had to convince them to let him pay his bill and avoid involving the police.

"Nelson, this card holds immense power and privileges. It's not just a credit card; it's an invitation to a world beyond your imagination.

With this card, I can pay not only for the wine I ordered but for the entire restaurant if I wish. Let me settle the bill right now, and you'll see for yourself."

"Look at this poor guy. Have you ever forgotten how poor your dad is and how he managed to force you to marry me?".

Amelia yelled, feeling annoyed with what Dave said.

"Let's calm down first. I want to be sure of the diamond he's talking about".

The manager hesitated, glancing at the broken phone on the floor and then back at Dave and the mysterious black diamond card.

.After a moment of contemplation, he nodded, his skepticism fading slightly.

"Alright, young man. Show me what this card can do. But remember, if you're bluffing, the consequences will be severe."

"I will let my guards punish you to death if I realize that what you're saying is full of lies". The manager said

"I can settle the bill at the restaurant I'm currently at," Dave replied, trying to hide the hint of triumph in his voice. "Please, I will transfer the necessary funds to cover the expenses."
