Chapter 22: The Taoist Fairy

Jayson fled frantically, his heels almost touching the back of his head as he ran faster. He gasped for air, his heart pounding in his chest. He darted through the trees, glancing back to see if the python was still pursuing him. To his relief, he saw that it wasn't.

As he caught his breath, Jayson took stock of his torn jeans, wincing at the damage. Once he felt more composed, he began to walk forward, only to come face to face with an elephant.

"What the fu-ck!" He muttered an exclamation under his breath and quickly ran away once more.

Jayson tumbled and rolled across the field, his clothes torn and tattered when he finally came to a stop. As he sat up, he noticed a warning sign nearby that read "Danger." He got up, glanced around, and wandered aimlessly in the forest for three hours before finally finding his way out.

Standing on the paved road, Jayson waited for a passing car to give him a ride. He looked down at Emperor Xia's ring, which he held in his hand, and whispered to him
