Chapter 3: Visit To The Underground Boxing Ring

But that was no longer possible because Jayson had been reincarnated.

"You have a filthy mouth, Lucy. Did you even brush your teeth this morning?" Jayson replied, his tone acidic.

Lucy's face went white. She had never expected Jayson to be so caustic with his words. Without another word, Jayson turned around and left the room.

Elena's complexion paled as she realized the gravity of the situation. Without hesitation, she chased after Jayson, calling out his name anxiously. "Jayson!"

Just then, Mrs. Wilson stepped in her way, her voice laced with anger. "Elena, what's wrong with you? Don't tell me you've fallen for that worthless man?"

Elena shook her head frantically, her nerves on edge. "No, Mom. You know who I love. It's not him."

The entire Wilson family nodded in agreement, aware of Elena's affection for Gabby, one of the wealthiest men in Jade City.

Daniel's eyes sparkled with an idea. "Why don't you leave Jayson and marry Gabby?"

Elena sighed and replied dejectedly, "I wish it were that simple. Gabby won't have anything to do with me unless I'm married to Jayson." The Wilsons were perplexed by the situation.

Elena wasn't ready to divulge the details, but she grasped her mother's arm in desperation. "Mom, I'm pregnant with Gabby's child. If Jayson doesn't come back home, we'll lose everything."

The Wilson family was taken aback and confused by what was happening. They were unsure if Gabby Willow was Cockhold freak or not.

However, Mrs. Wilson, a knowledgeable and worldly woman, quickly regained her composure and offered a suggestion.

"Elena, instead of going out to plead with that trashy Jay now, let's wait. When he's famished and helpless, he'll come back begging and feeling less important. It'll be more effective," Mrs. Wilson advised.

Elena found comfort in her mother's words and agreed, realizing that Jayson didn't have a job and wondered what he could do.

Jayson was walking down the street when he suddenly remembered something important. He hailed a taxi and gave the driver an address, and soon they arrived at their destination. Jayson got out of the taxi and made his way towards a secret door hidden in a dark alley. Two large bouncers were guarding the door.

The bouncers thoroughly searched Jayson, presumably to make sure he wasn't a police officer. One of the bouncers then asked for Jayson's name.

"Jayson Wade," Jayson replied.

Upon hearing his name, the bouncers looked at Jayson and burst into laughter. Confused, Jayson asked them what was so funny.

One of the bouncers grinned sheepishly and said, "Oh, pardon me. I didn't realize you were the infamous trash of Jade City. You can go in without any worry of being a police officer."

With that, the bouncers granted Jayson swift entrance without any further search. Jayson was left dazed, unaware of his formal self fame in the city.

He paused, stroking his chin as he pondered how he could improve his public image. Suddenly, the sound of raucous shouting and cries interrupted his thoughts.

Curiosity getting the better of him, he made his way towards the commotion and discovered a large crowd gathered in a circle, cheering on two fighters engaged in a brutal match. Blood spattered across the ring, causing his heart to skip a beat.

Remembering his purpose in the underground ring, he sought out the registration booth and approached the intimidating-looking man in charge, covered in tattoos.

The man's smile looked hollow as he asked Jayson, "Do you want to join in the fun?"

A thunderous cheer erupted, shaking the entire building and catching Jayson's attention. He turned to see one of the fighters being kicked out of the ring, and fear gripped him as he swallowed hard.

"Are you here to register as a fighter?" the man reminded Jayson of his purpose for being there.

Jayson felt confused and nervous. He had only heard rumors about Jade City's underground boxing ring and had never witnessed it before.

Feeling his dry lips, Jayson managed to say, "I want to take up the challenge against Mayhem Hayden."

The man in charge of registering fighters and issuing challenges suddenly stopped what he was doing and looked Jayson over. He burst into laughter, holding his stomach as tears streamed down his face. Jayson checked himself, wondering what had caused the man's outburst.

With a smile on his face, the man looked up at Jayson and asked  "Do you want to commit suicide?"

But Jayson was determined not to be looked down upon. "You shouldn't worry about that. I accept the challenge. Register me as a fighter," he insisted with renewed vigor.

The man proceeded with the registration and handed Jayson a contract to sign. "This is a life and death contract. If you die in the ring, no one will be held responsible. You will face Mayhem Hayden on May 14th. Go and work out, kid," the man said before waving Jayson away.

Despite his determination, the man didn't take Jayson seriously at all. He was convinced that the kid would not show up. But when news spread that someone had accepted to face Mayhem Hayden, there was an uproar in the underground boxing ring. After thorough investigation, they discovered that it was a newbie who had caused the commotion.

Having left the boxing ring, Jayson went to a hotel and slept for the night before hitting the gym the next day.

Jayson was about to enter the gym when he heard a familiar voice asking, "What are you doing here, Jayson?" He turned to see Daniel, his wife's brother.

"Why can't I be here if you are here?" Jayson replied casually, not bothered by Daniel's question.

Daniel's face twisted in disgust. "Why would a trash like you even bother going to the gym?" he sneered.

Jayson raised an eyebrow. "Is that what you tell yourself to feel better about not working out?" he shot back.

Daniel's anger flared up. "How dare you talk to me like that, you worthless piece of trash!" he shouted.

Jayson remained unfazed. "Ugly words from an ugly person," he mused.

Daniel tried to keep his cool. "Anyway, your wife misses you. When are you coming home?" he asked, pretending to be friendly.

Jayson's expression turned cold. "I may consider going back home when the Wilson family kneels before me and begs for forgiveness," he replied flatly.
