Chapter 48: The Art Of Baiting

Butler Mark's frustration and confusion were evident, causing his jaws to clench tightly, the sound of his teeth clattering as he expressed his anger. He exclaimed with a furious tone, "Jayson Wade, do you not fear the wrath of the heavens? Your deceitful words may bring upon you a thunderbolt that strikes you lifeless! How can you tell such falsehoods in the presence of your mother-in-law and wife? Are you so eager to provoke divine anger?"

In response, Jayson replied nonchalantly, "If you doubt the truth of my words, let us review the surveillance footage."

Butler Mark instinctively nodded, but suddenly the colours drained from his face as he remembered sending the mansion's largest dog to attack Jayson. The realization hit him hard. If Elena were to see the footage, not only would he lose his job, but he could also end up in the hands of the police. Panic gripped him at the thought.

"I... I admit it, Madam. I let Jayson out of the mansion. Please have mercy," Butler Mark stammered
