Expecting a grand party, Charles reached the Myers mansion, but he didn’t see any other vehicles outside. There were no noises of people talking, either.

He parked the car outside and entered through the gate as the guard showed no objection.

Charles never wanted to enter this mansion if possible, but he was still being forced to do so because of the circumstances.

“She said there will be a dinner party, but why isn’t there anyone else? Don’t tell me, I was the only person she called?”

He couldn’t have asked for better as there were a lot of things he wanted to walk about.

He quickly entered the building.

Cassey, the maid, welcomed him and made him sit at the dining table lit up with candle light. It was quite a beautiful setting, romantic, to say the least.

Cassey soon excused herself.

Charles waited. Every second felt like a minute.

Before long, Sofia came climbing down the stairs, in a sparkling blue dress. She probably never looked so gorgeous before. Her womanly swaying skipped h

Sofia held Charle’s hands, and Cassey held his legs as they brought him over to Sofia’s room. After they put him down on the bed, Cassey was gasping. “He’s much heavier than he looks. I thought my shoulders would break.” She looked at Sofia who wasn’t gasping all that much. (Even though I work a lot more than her every day, why isn’t she exhausted? I’m sure she also bore a significant amount of his body weight.)“What are you still standing here for?” Sofia coldly looked at Cassey.“Ah, I’m sorry,” Cassey hurriedly left the room.Victoria was right outside the room, leaning against the wall, with her arms folded across her chest. “Go to the cottage and tell Narika that Charles came here for a dinner party, and that he ended up entering Sofia’s room together with her. You know how to tell the message so that she’ll feel miserable, right?”“Leave it to me, ma’am,” Cassey assured and quickly strode away. (If I say what Victoria madam wants me to say, then there’s no way Narika will ever

[This chapter contains vivid descriptions of sex and sexual organs.Reader discretion is advised.]Fang, a beast that had been in invisible chains for a long time, was waiting for an opportunity to assert himself, and Charles presented that very opportunity by giving himself into the stimulation that Sofia kept giving him.The moment Charles’ penis hardened and throbbed with strange delight in response to Sofia’s intimate actions, Fang grinned and took over Charles’ body without a shred of hesitation. He opened his eyes and looked at Sofia, startling, and freezing her expression for a second. She didn’t know how to react. She didn’t think her cheeky actions would wake Charles up. And he kept staring at her without blinking, so she didn’t know how to explain herself. She wasn’t prepared for something like this.Being a smart and bold woman that Sofia was, she moved closer and kissed his lips.Fang, who was thinking to dominate her, suddenly found himself a bit paralyzed because she jus

The next morning.Sofia awoke in the tendrils of a nectarean dream, with vague visions of a strong, sensual man fulfilling all his desires on her in one night. And the stirring scent was still felt in the covers, making her nestle under covers.Eventually, as the sweet feeling settled down, she sat up with a sleepy smile going on her face. Her smile soon settled, and she put on a normal but slightly confused expression.First of all, she was wearing black clothes now, which she didn’t remember putting on.Secondly, why wasn’t Charles sleeping on the bed next to her? Why was she alone? Where did he go?Thirdly, why was she feeling super sore all over her body? She tried to get off her bed, but she was finding it difficult.Suddenly, a stinging pain in the neck made her cringe. She touched her neck instinctively. She felt something, as if someone had bitten her on the neck. Her eyes widened quickly.“Don’t tell me… I did it with Charles last night? Did he… do this?” She tried so hard to

After coming out of the mansion, Charles drove his Lamborghini and drove aimlessly before stopping at a cliff. There was no one around him, not even a trace of a car for miles all around.Sitting at the edge of the cliff, he brought his claws out and wondered if he should just rip his heart out and kill himself. He had helplessly watched as Fang had sex with Sofia through his body. Of course, Charles also felt the same pleasure as Fang did, but that was also why Charles hated himself so much more.He couldn’t digest the fact that the first woman he had sex with was none other than the only woman on earth he never wanted to have sex with. His heart ached in a strange manner and brought tears to his eyes.“Why are you being so down?” Fang’s voice rang in his mind. “You might have signed the divorce papers, but you two didn’t officially get divorced yet, so you’re still a couple. It means you fucked your own wife. I don’t get why you feel sad about it when you should be feeling happy.”

Charles was now able to sleep at night, and sleep peacefully at that. This was the first good sleep he had in years. And he could guess the reason for this sudden change. It had to do with the disappearance of Fang from his head.Previously, Charles wasn’t able to sleep at night for reasons he didn’t know. And he would also fall asleep in the morning even when he never intended to sleep. This had bothered him quite a few times. However, now, Charles could feel something different about his body. His head felt lighter, and the world appeared brighter.Charles got a long ten hour sleep and woke up the next morning. He pulled the curtain of the villa aside, and the morning looked as bright as ever.He could tell straight away that his resistance to the sun has significantly improved. The paleness of his body also softened a little.“Fang… you said you were part of me, but it turns out that you were lying. If you were part of me, I would feel that something is missing in me right now, but

Charles ended up spending the night at the Bisconsley’s estate because Caroline insisted on it. However, he couldn’t sleep well last night. It wasn’t just Charles that couldn’t sleep well, but also Samson and Roger. They were so afraid of losing all the wealth to Laurel and Charles, and they went to Charles’ room and tried to bribe him. He politely told them to leave, and they had to. Unlike Samson and Roger, the reason Charles couldn’t sleep well was because he remembered Narika. She didn’t want his help, so he chose not to bring her with him, but now, he felt that he should have forcibly brought her out. Even when he was having breakfast with Caroline and Laurel, he kept thinking about the times Narika cooked for him, and they ate together. She even taught him how to make lemonade, both the spicy and the sweet types. The memories flashing before his eyes made his heart heavier. He didn’t feel like eating, even though the smell of every dish was very inviting. In the background,

Charles left the Bisconsley’s estate without giving a solid yes or no to Caroline’s question. And he felt guilty for doing that because he was wasting Laurel’s time and energy and more importantly her feelings. However, he probably wouldn’t say yes even if he wanted to right now because he had to deal with Sofia first. And the trauma of being an utterly unsuccessful husband was still there. As he was driving his lamborghini, he turned the radio on, trying to get his mind off of negative things. The radio show host was currently talking with a member of the audience who called her and asked her to play a song for his wife, and when the talk-show host asked why he wanted to play this particular love song, he replied, saying, “I love my wife. Even though she treats me coldly, I still try to give her love, believing that she’d one day change.”The female show host sounded surprised. “But what if she doesn’t change?” she asked him the same question that came to Charles’ mind.“She will. In the cottage to the south of the mansion, Narika was watching the ants eat the food placed before her. A rat came for the food, but then the rat’s attention turned to her. It came to bite on her toes, but she flicked her toe finger in the rat’s face, thereby startling it and making it run away.“Greed… will get you killed sooner, buddy,” she mumbled.A few seconds later, her ear jerked a little.About a minute later, the door opened, and an unexpected person entered the cottage wearing an ugly expression.“My daughter… how much longer do you plan to rot in this crappy place?” Victoria asked, seemingly pitying her daughter’s situation. Looking at the rotting food on the floor, she almost vomited. Covering her mouth with a handkerchief, she walked on her toes to avoid stepping on bad spots.Cassey then entered the cottage with a chair and put it beside Narika. Victoria sat in the chair and told the maid to leave. After Cassey left, keeping the door open, Victoria looked at her daughte

  • EPILOGUE

The next morning.Victoria woke up and did not receive a bed coffee. She went to the kitchen, only to find a letter there on the fridge.Cassey had written a letter and disappeared. In the letter, she thanked Victoria for her care, and apologized for leaving this way because she knew Victoria wouldn’t let her go otherwise.“The bats must have really scared her,” Victoria couldn’t really blame Cassey, but she was still angry that Cassey left without even telling directly to her face. “If she comes back running after a few months, I won’t take her in.”On the other hand, Gregory, having lost his argument with Victoria the previous night, brought a black magician to chase the bats away. However, they didn’t know this black magician was a fake. But that would probably be not proven because the bats would no longer attack the mansion from here onward.Sofia told her mother to prepare her multiple masks, one of which looked like Cassey, and others that looked like different people, including

Many minutes passed since Sofia and others got stuck in the smelly basement filled with rat poop and what not. Moreover, these rats were the size of cats. From having eaten all kinds of roots and seeds in the garden, they grew very bulky, and they did not fear these four humans. They were more arrogant than the Myers themselves, as if they were the real owners of this place! As everyone waited with bated breaths, about an hour or so later, the music stopped. The sound of bats leaving reached their ears.“Did they leave?” Sofia wondered. She told Cassey to check on it, but Cassey was still feeling her wounds. She refused to go out. They waited a few minutes before coming out. To their relief, the bats were gone, and so did the guitar, but they didn’t care about the guitar.“Our mansion must be cursed,” Victoria looked at Gregory. “Do something.”“What do you want me to do? Bring some black magicians?” he yelled in frustration.“I don’t know! Just make sure they won’t even come near our

In the middle of the night, Sofia was rolling around and slapping her arms every now and then because bugs were biting her. There was no fan or AC in this cottage. All she had was a hand fan, and her arms had grown heavy from waving the fan. Now, she was completely drenched in sweat, and this made it all the more difficult for her to properly sleep. She got up from the couch and shook her dress before walking out of the cottage. She could see the mansion in the distance. The words her mother told her a day ago came to her mind.“After the wedding was stopped, we didn’t care about anything. But your sister went to the catering guys and told them to give the food to the homeless. They went and freely distributed the food throughout the city in our family’s name,” Victoria showed the details in the newspaper. “This is good for us because the public opinion will surely improve after this incident. We’re doing our best to make those videos Carlos showed at the wedding are fake. Even if som

Sofia was too stunned to even talk or blink for that matter. Seeing Carlos had frozen her to the core.“C-Carlos!” Victoria shouted like a pig walking on broken glass. “Why are you disguised as Charles? What have you done to him? Where is he?”“He’s… standing right before you,” Carlos raised the face mask in his hand. “I’m Carlos. And I’m Charles.”Victoria’s eyes grew wider than the seas. The wine glass in her hand fell.“I’m Carlos Wallce. I’m Charles Wallace,” Carlos added. “I’m the guy that has been treated like a trash, not worth her time, by Sofia no matter how much I tried to please her, and I’m also the guy that she has fallen for because she believed she deserved me when I was a gambler who earns in millions every match.”Sofia still kept stupidly staring in gut-busting shock. Charles was preparing in his room all by himself. Someone knocked on the door multiple times.“Coming.” Charles opened the door only to get shocked to see Laurel who had wet eyes, and there was anger dwelling in her eyes. She entered the room without his permission and locked the door. “What are you doing?”She looked into his eyes. “Didn’t you say you can’t make a woman pregnant? Why are you marrying Sofia?”Charles maintained a straight face. “You will know soon.”“What do you mean I’ll know soon?” Laurel frowned.“That’s all I can say. If you leave, I’ll prepare for the wedding,” Charles said.Laurel clenched her fist. “I hate you, Charles. I wish I never met you.” Holding her tears back, she rushed out of the room.Charles pursed his lips and took a deep breath. When he looked at himself in the mirror, he hated whom he was seeing.Meanwhile, in another room, Sofia was looking at herself in the mirror with a bouquet in her hand, she felt so happy. Many years ago, when he was very young, he was alone. Even after these years, that didn’t seem to have changed as he didn’t have anyone that would walk beside him.Charles was aimlessly walking, and he noticed a few men trying to look from an old beggar. They managed to take more than a hundred dollars from the beggar, but they still wanted more, and they began to rip his clothes, trying to see if he was hiding the money elsewhere. The beggar was old and weak, so he couldn’t fight back against the two youngsters.Charles approached from behind and grabbed their necks. They couldn’t move their necks, not even a little.“Give his money back,” Charles uttered, putting a bit more strength into his grip, and the youngsters quickly dropped the money. Charles then let go of them, and they ran away pretty
