CHAPTER 198

The bright moon toured the dark sky, making waves as this magnificent luminary always did.

Laurel sat in the tent house. It was getting cold outside as the loving silvery light of the moon did its magic, so she closed up the tent and slept.

Charles, on the other hand, sat behind the tent with a wine bottle in hand. Another curse of being a vampire was the natural resistance against intoxication toward alcohol. So, even though Charles drank the whole bottle of concentrated wine, it didn’t do any good.

The moon’s reflection bore into his eyes; waves of emotions ebbed and flowed in his heart like how it would happen to the sea that the moon would look upon every night.

Charles mobile started vibrating at some point. It was probably Marlon calling.

He answered the call. “Hello, who is this?”

“Your brother-in-law,” Marlon’s voice was rather soft.

“My brother-in-law? I don’t have one though,” Charles said, speaking in his natural Carlos’ voice.
