I CAN'T TRUST YOU!

Amelia stepped into the familiar warmth of her and Jude's home. She had travelled back from where her parents lived. The echoes of their celebration still danced in her mind.

As she entered the sitting room, she spotted Jude seated in his favourite armchair, engrossed in a magazine.

A glimmer of hope flickered within her as she approached him, full of excitement as she greeted him.

"Darling, I'm back!" She exclaimed, her voice laced with a mixture of excitement and longing. "It was a lovely celebration, but I'm glad to be home."

But Jude's response was a stony silence. He didn't look up from the magazine, his gaze fixed on the pages as if they held all the answers he sought.

The weight of his indifference bore down upon Amelia, her heart sinking with every passing moment.

Confusion and hurt clouded Amelia's eyes as she studied Jude's distant expression. She had expected him to be excited about her return, and indifference was what she least expected from him.
