I KNEW IT WAS A LIE

Mrs Faux and Lori were lounging in the living room, watching TV and sipping on iced tea. It had been a long day for Mrs Faux, and she was happy to finally have a moment of relaxation with her daughter.

Out of the blue, Mrs Faux turned to Lori and asked, "Do you know your cousin, Dub?"

Lori looked at her mother with a quizzical expression. "No, Mum, I don't think I do. Why do you ask?"

"Well," Mrs Faux began, "You know that your Aunt Shelly Cox and I had a bit of a falling out when we were young.

We haven't talked in years. But we've recently reconciled, and I was thinking it's about time I introduced you and your siblings to your cousins on that side of the family."

Lori's interest was piqued. "Really? That's great news, Mum! I'd love to meet my cousins."

Mrs Faux nodded. "I thought you might be interested. But before I make any introductions, I wanted to ask if you know anything about Dub."

Lori shook her head. "No, I don't. Why? Is there something I should know?"
