YOU HAD A THING FOR HIM

Debbie knocked on the door of Vera's house and waited for her to answer. After a few moments, Vera opened the door and smiled when she saw her friend.

"Debbie, it's so good to see you!" Vera exclaimed, giving her a warm hug.

"I'm glad you're back home," Debbie said as she stepped inside. "How are you feeling?"

"I'm feeling much better, thank you," Vera replied, leading Debbie to the living room. "The doctors say I'm healing well and should be back to normal in no time."

"That's great news," Debbie said as she took a seat on the couch. "I saw that Donald came to visit you at the hospital on different occasions. What's going on between you two?"

Vera felt a knot forming in her stomach. She knew this moment was inevitable, but she had hoped to avoid it for as long as possible. She looked down at her hands, unsure of how to respond.

Debbie frowned, wondering why Vera was quiet. "Come on, Vera. You can talk to me. We're friends, remember?" she urged.
