THE ARREST

Lori walked into the police station, her heart pounding. She took a deep breath and walked up to the desk sergeant.

"Excuse me, I need to speak to someone in charge," she said.

The sergeant looked up at her. "What is it you want to talk about?"

"I need to confess to a crime," Lori said.

The sergeant raised an eyebrow. "What kind of crime?"

"I lied to the police. I accused someone of a crime they didn't commit."

The sergeant nodded. "I see. Wait here, I'll get someone to talk to you."

Lori sat down in the waiting area, her palms sweating. She knew she was doing the right thing, but it was still terrifying to admit what she had done.

A few minutes later, a detective came out to talk to her.

"Can you tell me what happened?" the detective asked.

Lori took a deep breath and told the detective everything. She told him how she had been paid to blackmail Dub and how she had lied about Dub raping her. She told him about Martins and Jasmine, and how they had helped her concoct the story.
