Exasperated rasps escaped his lips as he strode out of the driveway - striding down the road. Every step trudging in despair and anxiety with the resonance of insects rending into the calmness of the night. The alley was void of people and the distant headlights of passing cars occasionally blared into Bryan's view, with the raves of their engines slashing into his thoughts frequently. As Bryan treaded through the silent alley, his thoughts swirled with every distant headlight that pierced the darkness. Finally reaching a restaurant's parking lot, he wearily leaned against a car, his head bowed, fingers unconsciously ruffling his hair. He peered at his timepiece and it was exactly midnight, he heaved a sigh - eyes still fixated on the timepiece. It felt like waiting for the waves of an ocean, and when it finally hits you, instead of swimming to the shore, you're stuck at the ravine of the flow. Bryan's lips broadened in awe as he gazed at his phone. He blinked his eyes to ensure he wasn't hallucinating or the numbers he was seeing where because of the humiliation he just suffered. Again he brushed his face with the back of his palms, and he peered at his phone again. Nothing changed, the 100 million dollar alert was still there. Bryan sprang up from the floor. He clutched his phone to his chest, staring around the parking a lot. His feet trembled and he was terrified if someone had seen him. But the still and hushed state of the parking lot dashed his doubts completely. He locked eyes with lights from a distance (from an unknown source) he swirled around again, gaping at the entrance of the restaurant and then back to where he stood. His eyes kept blinking and he hesitated to take a step. He took the phone off his chest and tucked it into his pocket. He wiped off the smudge of tears in his face. Bryan watched as the car drove away. His stare settled on the golden bracelet in his hand. He doesn't know much about ornament and stuff, but he needed no soothsayer to tell him that the bracelet in his hands cost a fortune. At this point, Bryan felt like a naive boy. Who's asked to choose what place he wants to go on his birthday? Either McDonalds, Walmart, or Starbucks. Whatever his choices are - there's a high tendency that he'll get his mouth soaked in candy at the end of the day. Bryan wants to believe that all what that old man said was true. But a part of his heart cringed at how hurt he'd feel if he found out that everything was all a lie. He wished someone would wake him from his dream and say "It's time for another delivery" Because all that has happened tonight was too much misfortune to contain for a mere delivery guy. "Drive to the nearest hospital," Bryan said as the taxi driver moved the car. His hands still hurting from the punch he connected to the fat guy's face. It was just the pain, Bryan didn't feel remorseful about what happened. After all, he was trying to save an accident victim - and a random guy showed up from nowhere, trying to stop him. Bryan's delivery uniform was decked with blood as the girl curled up close to his chest - placing her bleeding head on it. Bryan watched as her hair fluttered across his chest - her eyes were shut, and the entire backseat reeked of alcohol. "....you're gonna help me?," She said, chafing her hands across Bryan's chest - drawing visible lines on his shirt - with her blood as the ink. Bryan's throat quaked with nausea - because of his apathy for blood. Yet, he couldn't push the drunk lady away. He had to deal with the whole situation. "....who....are you??...you moron... Let me go" the girl said as Bryan pulled her by the arm. They sauntered into the reception of a five star hotel. One of the best hotels in LA. Bryan paused for a split second to stare at the luxurious aura of the room. His gaze settled on the shiny stairs and elevators, and to the beaming chandelier above his head. He looked back and forth for a few seconds before the supposed girl's violent pull yanked him off his realm of admiration. It dawned on him once again that's he's in a hotel and rooms are meant to be booked. Bryan dragged the girl - leading her to the desk of the receptionist. '....hello.." Bryan muttered - he still couldn't stop himself from looking all around the reception. "We desire a room" he added - without looking at the receptionist. "....y...you want to kill me in a hotel r.room, right?" The drunk girl stammered. "Every room has been occupied. There's no room" the receptionist said. Her words made Bryan turn to finally sta

Bryan descended the elevator and he pulled the drunk girl into a lowly hallway. The deserted hallway looked elegant - the huge chandeliers illuminated it - leaving several spatters of light on the floor. Each side of the hallway had several doors - and Bryan had to find a room with the "Room 752" inscription. "....m..my head is hurting" the drunk girl muttered.Bryan could feel the pain and discomfort oozing from her tone. Bryan quickened his steps. Every step Bryan and the drunk girl took reverberated loudly. They walked past a few rooms until Bryan halted their steps in front of a room dubbed "752" A sigh of comfort glided off the corner of Bryan's lips. They swiped the card on the door lock and it unlocked. He twisted the knob and pushed the door. The sight of a huge bed - festooned with a white duvet welcomed Bryan's sight. The serenity of the night welcomed their sights when Bryan and the two police men stepped outside the hotel. A police vehicle with blaring sirens was parked outside the facility.
