Departure

As the sun rose in the sky, the shadow started disappearing and the Teren Territory, which was not visible at night, became more visible. The whole domain was in peace, and silence prevailed everywhere except for the Count's mansion as the mansion lights were still on, and people could be seen fast as work.

All the people were working diligently, and from their expressions, they could be seen as tired, which showed that they had been working the whole night without rest.

As the sun rose and lighted the rooms of the mansion, a figure could be seen sleeping on the bed; the person had a weak body with blue color hair and the same color eyes. The person could be sleeping peacefully without any tension in the world; then the person could hear a knock on the door and a female voice saying, "Young Master may I come in."

The person was none other than Alton, and as he woke up from his sleep, hearing the knock on the door and the voice. Still, in half sleep, he answered, "Come in."

The maid entered the room, bowed toward Alton, and said, "Young Master, my name is Veronica, and I will be your assigned personal maid from now on."

Alton looked towards the maid from top to bottom, and a red-haired beauty with black eyes but a normal body could be seen standing in front of the door, so Alton asked, "How come a new personal maid came so fast."

Veronica answered, "Yesterday, when Young Miss was relieved from her duties, she called for me and asked me to take care of you instead of her."

Hearing this, Alton sat straight on his bed and then ordered Veronica to stop bowing and look up.

As Veronica looked up, Alton immediately recognized her as he had also seen her with Maria in the previous life. Alton became the master of the house after his parents died, so he made Maria the head maid of the mansion, and Maria assigned her as her deputy. Still, at that time, Alton didn't believe in anyone, so he checked on her and found that she was a loyal and honest maid and, most of all, she was Maria's best friend.

Alton smiled and, looking at her, asked, "Wouldn't you be happy to help sister rather than me."

Veronica was intelligent, so she replied honestly, "Young Miss asked me to take care of you especially, so I took the job, and the other maid Cecilia has been assigned to her."

Alton smiled as he knew about Cecilia, so he didn't need to worry about her getting wronged because Cecilia and Veronica were Maria's best friends and were like a sister to her. Vice-versa, so she trusted them, and that was why she had asked Veronica to come and take care of me because she could not believe the rest of the maids.

Alton sighed in relief because it meant that Maria would not be wronged if Cecilia cared for her.

Alton got out of his bed and looked at Veronica and, in an authoritative tone, said, "Veronica, now that you are my maid, I hope that you will be loyal to me and if I ever find that any of my secrets are out it won't be good for you."

Veronica was a bit caught off guard as she had met Alton before, and he was different from before, but she quickly came to her senses and answered, "Yes, young master."

Alton nodded and then said, "Time will show us if you could be trusted or not."

Alton started walking into the bathroom to do his daily routine, and just like Maria, Veronica took his formal ceremony clothes and helped him dress up after the bath.

In the Teren Mansion, a personal maid is assigned to each family member, and the maid has to be fully loyal to their master except for going against the Count and countess, which could be counted as usurping and would be punishable.

If it is ever found that the maid has betrayed them, the master could give the death penalty so being the personal maid was a big and important job at the same time.

At the same time, in another room in the mansion, a black-haired female beauty could be seen peacefully sleeping on the bed and knocking on the door with a woman saying, "Young Miss may I come in?"

The black-haired beauty who was Maria opened her eyes and answered, "Come in."

The woman entered the room, and as Maria looked at her, a petite body with dark brown hair and light brown eyes could be seen standing in front of her.

The woman looked at Maria and then said with a smile, "Young Miss, it's time to get up."

Maria got up, went into the sitting position, and said, "Cecilia, you can call me Maria when we are alone; our friendship is not finsihed is it because of this is it."

A mischievous smile appeared on Cecilia's face, and she answered, "Sorry, Young Miss, but I can not call your name and you should not assossiate with us servants from now on."

A shocked expression appeared on Maria's face, and her eyes were about to get watery, and she said with a hoarse voice, "Cecilia are you serious please don't joke with me you are like a sisteer to me please tell me this is a lie."

Cecilia wanted to tease her a bit more but seeing that she would cry, she decided against it and then said with a smile on her face, "Young Miss I will not call you by your name but I will care for you like a sister and now I will also take care of you more."

Maria smiled seeing Cecilia and remembered how Cecilia and Veronica came yesterday to congratulate her. However, she could notice that they both were hesitant at first, but after noticing that she was still the same Maria and that she had become their master, nothing had changed; she still cared about them as they cared for her.

Maria was happy seeing that her friends were so understanding, which was also why she asked Veronica to take care of Alton in her stead, as Alton would not let her take care of her from now on.

Maria got out of bed and then performed her daily routine, which was bathing, brushing, and getting ready, but she only did bathing and brushing herself and was dressed by Cecilia. Maria was a bit hesitant at first but mustered up the courage. The dress Maria wore was the same as Aria wore at the family get-together, but it was completely empty as it didn't even have the Teren family emblem on it.

As Alton got ready, he and Veronica left the room and started walking when Maria was leaving with Cecilia. As Alton and Veronica looked at Maria in the ceremony clothes, they smiled because she looked a lot beautiful.

As Alton looked at her and, with a hand in front of her, asked in a gentlemanly manner, "Sister, May I escort you today."

Maria smiled, took Alton's hand, and then started walking with him. Veronica and Cecilia were smiling because they had also seen that Maria cared for the Teren family like a family.

Maria had been in the mansion since the day countess brought her in, and even when she was given a chance to leave the Teren mansion and live a life outside, she gave it up without a second thought.
