As Alton and Maria walked into the room all the eyes were on them, people were talking to each other in silent voices that who is that girl and why is she walking with Young Master.

All the commotion was making Maria shiver which Alton noticed so he put his hand on hers and said in a low voice that was only audible to her "Don't be scared they can do nothing except for talking and you need to stand your ground if you don't want to be trampled on this is the price that all the nobles of Alzonian Empire need to accept as a noble."

Maria was shocked hearing Alton's words because right now he was not the same Alton she knew he had an aura which she had never felt before an aura of a true noble so Maria firmed her stance and walked without shivering and in a small voice said: "Thank you".

Both of them reached the place where Aldwin and the priests were standing and as Alton saw Alfred he smiled and bowed a bit in respect saying "Greetings Hight Priest Alfred."

Alfred was shocked seeing Alton and wondered if this was the same Alton who he knew but a smile appeared on his face "Young Alton long time no see how are you these days."

Alton straightened up while having a smile on his "I have been well; thank you how have you been." Alfred smiled back "I have been good as well." Alfred was genuinely happy seeing that he was happy but then he moved his hand on his shoulder showing like he was patting him but he sent mana in his body to see that no one was possessing and when he saw that there was no reaction he was happy seeing that but this didn't go unnoticed by Aldwin but he had a smile on his face because this showed that his friend cared about him.

Alfred moved his eyes to the young woman standing next to Alton and said "Is she the main person of this event." Before Alton could answer, Aldwin said in a loud voice "I Count Aldwin Von Teren am going to adopt this girl Maria into the Teren family as my daughter."

All the people were shocked in the room except for Alton, Aria, Alfred, and the estate staff knew about this beforehand.

All of a sudden the room fell into chaos and then a person stood up from his chair and said: "Brother if I am not wrong this girl should be Alton's maid right."

All of the people started talking in a low voice hearing the about the girl and Alton looked towards the voice and saw a man couple of years younger than his father he had the same facial structure, eyes, and hair as his father but he had a belly and average height but as soon as Alton saw this person the smile which was on his face disappeared and he was getting angry because this was his uncle Edwin Von Teren and this was the person who was behind most of the misery in his previous life.

Alton wanted to kill this person right here and right now but he controlled himself because he was waiting for the right time. Alton scanned the seats next to his Uncle because he was searching for his Uncle only son and the person who killed him Dragun but luckily he was not here so he was able to control his hatred.

Alton was about to say something but then Aldwin said "Yes so what?" Edwin smiled and said "But brother you cannot just adopt anyone just like that" he looked at Maria with disdain n his eyes and continued "The Teren name cannot be given to a normal maid can it be it would bring down the prestige of the Teren family."

A lot of the people who were on Edwin's side started agreeing with him but the people on Aldwin's side stayed silent. After all, they wanted to listen to their lord because they knew that Adwin will never make any kind of decision on a wimp.

Aldwin smiled because he was ready for this and then looked at Aria who was also smiling so he looked at Edwin "Edwin you are right we cannot give a normal maid Teren family." Alton's heart stopped because something was a miss why were his parents smiling also why was there no hesitation on Maria's face, there was something which he didn't know.

Edwin smiled and then said, "Right so you cannot let that girl become a member of Teren's family." Aldwin looked at him and then turned towards the crowd "Maria has worked for the Teren family from the age of five when Aria brought her into the mansion and from that day she has been with the Teren family helping and doing whatever was asked of her and she has also saved the life of Aria, Alton and mine multiple times."

All the people were shocked hearing this because how can a normal maid save the life of the count, countess, and young master? Alton was shocked hearing this so he looked towards Maria but she looked at Aldwin without saying anything. At this moment heavy pressure filled the room and almost all the people were brought to their knees but a couple of people were still standing which were Aria, Alfred, Mark, Wendy, James, and Liam.

All the people had painful expressions on their faces even the ones who were standing and why will they not when the person applying the pressure was none other than Aldwin who was 7th Level Knight? Amid this Alton looked at Maria but she was standing, then the next second a barrier appeared around Alton and Maria which took off the pressure from him and so he was able to stand with ease and he looked at his mother thinking that she had cast it but she was just sitting there so he looked beside him and it was Maria who was casting the barrier.

Alton was shocked to see that Maria was this powerful, he knew that she was a mage because she revealed it in his last life after they ran away from the mansion when his uncle took usurped but he was shocked that his uncle who was also a 1st Star Elementary mage was unable to hold up the pressure and then after a couple of seconds the pressure finally disappeared and then Aldwin looked at the crowd while pointing at Maria "Now what do you say she is better than you nobles who have all the resources but have still only reached this level and for the information, Maria is a 3rd Star Elementary mage."

Everyone was exhausted because of Aldwin's pressure but when they knew her identity they were more shocked as to why this girl was working as a maid for a good-for-nothing young master when she could leave this place and have a better life.

Aria got up from the chair and said "You must be wondering why she is still working here as a maid right." They all were shocked because the countess had read their minds so Aria continued and said: "Maria became a 1st Star mage at the age of 22 then Aldwin and I offered her a position as Teren family mage but she still insisted to be Alton maid and when Alton was still a child there were multiple assassinations attempts on him but they were all neutralized by her." Aria said the last line while looking at Edwin.

All the people were shocked because they were not expecting anything like this to happen and hearing that a maid was more powerful than most of them. Alton was also shocked at this and wondered why didn't he know about this even after living life one time but he was happy because people will think before saying anything regarding her.
