Chapter 7: Drum of revenge.

Mr. Steven's face twister with hate and disgust as he stared hatefully into the eyes of the young man that stood before him without pity.

He hated poor asses like his. And this wasn't only a poor ass, he had a broken limb.

He could feel his soul satisfied watching him begging on his knees. He saw him shaking on his painful limb.

Especially when he deserved it for thinking that his family would stoop so low to get married to such a fool like him.

"Such a fool," mr. Steven gasped.

"I can't help you," he said turning around. "Chase him away," he said to the gateman.

At his words, Richmond's heart almost stopped beating. He felt as if his head was about to fall apart.

What exactly was he going to do now while his only love lay on her sick bed dying gradually and painfully. Fresh tears dropped down from his face as he stared into the eyes of the man that he had rescued from death.

"Didn't you hear what he just said? Or you want me to send the dogs after you again," the gateman fired.

Richmond shook his head and without saying a single word, Richmond rose from the floor with a painful stagger and he began to limp away aimlessly.

"One-legged monster," the security officer yelled after him as a burst of mocking laughter escaped from his mouth.

More tears escaped from his eyes as a wide range of possibilities crossed his mind. He certainly would not allow the one who had always been by him to die this way.

But what exactly could he do? He was poor and the only person that could help him just chased him out of his sight.

His heart was torn apart by the cruelty of the men around him.

He got to his dormitory without saying a word to anybody. John and Michael stared at their roommate as he staggered to his bed like a man stripped of his life.

They were confused as tears began to trekked slowly down his glowing eyes.

"What's happening?" Michael inquired.

But instead, Richmond shot a worried look at him and he signed with grief as more tears escaped from his eyes.

"Leave me alone," he replied with all the strength he had in him.

He got his cell phone from his pocket and switched it off. He wasn't expecting any sad call at that point. He needed some time to think about his life.

A few minutes later, he slept up on the bed as more tears flowed from his eyes even with his eyes closed.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
About an hour later, Richmond woke up from his never-ending sleep. But he wished he had never woken up.
Sleeping was the only way of escaping the problems that surrounded him.
"My life sucks," he signed as he got his phone from where he threw it and switched it on. He just prayed a miracle would occur at that point and his mother would be deemed healthy.
Immediately he switched on the phone, he got an SMS message notifying him that a strange number has been trying to reach out to him.
Then, his phone began to vibrate. It was the same strange phone number that had been trying to reach him.
His heart raced faster as the phone shook in his hands. And he took a very deep breath to calmed himself down.
"Were they already calling to inform him that something terrible had happened to his mother?" he thought.
"Hello, Master Richmond," the caller at the other end greeted warmly.
Richmond drew a deep breath as he gave a reply to the person at the other end with his voice cracked from excessive crying.
"Hi," Richmond returned already shivering with fear and cold shivers running steeply down his spine.
"Hmmm, I am the secretary of the central medical unit in charge of your drug, produced some months back and I was calling to inform you the it been certified by the government. So we would start distributing the drug after we get your consent," she announced.
At her words, Richmond limped out of the bed with great joy. He had forgotten about the cancer drug he made a few months back because nobody had spoken about it.
"Hello, Master Richmond. Are you still there," the lady inquired.
"Yes I am here," Richmond returned trembling with excitement.
"So for your compensation, your account would be credited with five billionaire dollars. And for a start, we bought the keystone pharmacy and you are now the new manager. You will come to our office tomorrow to sign the required documents," she explained.
This was just too good to be true. Richmond's face brightened with great joy as he drew out from the bed immediately.
"Okay, thank you very much," Richmond replied already shivering with great joy. He didn't notice when tears started falling from his eyes again.
His heart limped for joy and a grateful smile hovered on his face once again.
"Finally I am rich," he exclaimed aloud kneeling.
"Mum won't die now that I can afford her treatment," he exclaimed with joy.
Now, he was assured that his mother wasn't going to die anymore. He now has enough money to pay all her medical bills and make sure that they never suffered again.
A few minutes later, his phone made a loud beeping sound. It was a credit alert of five billion dollars just as the lady had promised.
He had been transformed into a billionaire all in one minute.
He searched quickly for Maya's contact. He wanted her bank details to send down the money for his mother's treatment immediately. He scrolled with great excitement as he searched for her phone contact.
He placed the call and to his surprise, it was picked up immediately. This made him a little suspicious.
"But nothing could possibly go wrong now," he thought. "I got the money for my mum's treatment so nothing can go wrong," he said to himself again.
"Hi Maya, how is his mum doing," Richmond inquired.
Immediately he said this, Maya broke down into a mourning sob.
Richmond got the message immediately, he had just lost his mother. He ended the call immediately and crossed his hands along his chest.
Tears began to gradually drop from his eyes. The only one who had treated him like a new one had taken her last breath.
He felt as though all the veins connected to his heart had been disconnected and he could feel his legs shivering.
"I lost her," he said as though he was trying not to believe what he just heard. And tears poured freely from his eyes.
How could she leave now that they were rich and it was drop-dead certain that they were not going to suffer for the rest of their lives?
"No.... this can't be happening," he yelled, smashing his cell phone on the hard wall. More tears escaped from his eyes and he slept off again on the bed.
~~~~~~~~~~~~

A few weeks later, Richmond stood before his mother's corpse in the coffin.

Her face was plain and Flowers laid everywhere. Tears escaped from his eyes as he was supposed to give her a befitting life but here he, was giving her a befitting funeral ceremony l

Tears poured down slowly from his eyes as he stood in his BLACK, staring into his mother's corpse.

He could see his biological parent's corpse lying beside hers, just like he remembered you said it that day.

Again, he had lost someone dear to his heart.

It got to the point when she was gradually lowered to the ground and wails filled the whole place.

Richard got a hand full of earth beside the dug graves and threw it into the grave of his beloved mother.

"Farewell mother," he said with a sobbing face.

As he continued to watch, his mind flashed back to all that have ever wrong him. Now that he has become a billionaire, he was going to take is revenge on all of them.

"I swear on my late parents grave, I will have my revenge on all those who had a hand in your death through their cruelty," he vowed.

The story of Richmond's revenge begins.

ADDITIONAL NOTE

'The drum of revenge'

If roses are red

And the sky can stay blue

Why then does the life of Richmond

Laying in shame

Never acts same

What then Can we say

Is life fair?

The answer to this question

Richmond holds not

But One thing he has to say

Is that the answer lies within

But even if he his stranded

And his feets are weakened

One thing he has to say

One drum he has to beat

And one tune he has to whistle

IS THE DREADED TUNE OF REVENGE
