CHAPTER SIXTEEN

“I was seven when my Mother called me a good for nothing child” Caleb started. He looked around and he knew no one was listening to him but he still decided to push forward.

“I was the definition of a dullard back then. I never paid attention in class and never turned in my assignment every time our teacher asked me to. All I wanted was to keep playing and playing until I could barely stand”

Daisy met my eyes from across the room. She hissed and narrowed her black rimmed eyes at me “Why are you sharing your sob story with us?”

A glimmer of hope broke through the tense atmosphere and Caleb could tell that he had already gotten the majority if everyone’s attention.

“I’m trying to bring out a point Daisy”

“Well we don’t want to hear it” Daisy retorted removing her gaze from mine.

Regardless of her comment, I continued “I continued this habit for two more years and then when I turned nine years old I could tell that my mom was already bitter because of me.”

“She stopped talking to me.
