CHAPTER TWENTY THREE

Caleb grimaced at the amount of blood that was on his body.

He had never liked seeing the rest fluid so much to the extent that he got very light headed whenever he saw blood.

Even at this very moment he wondered how he had not passed out from all the blood he had seen today.

Anastasia groaned in pain for the umpteenth time in that minute.

She was losing a lot of blood and he didn’t know how else to save her other than wrapping around her abdomen with a cloth to put pressure on her open wound.

The white shirt she wore was so red that you could not tell if it was white before.

“Just leave me here and go” she mumbled closing her eyes tightly in pain.

“Just go” she whispered turning her blood stained body away from Caleb.

Caleb helped her sit right and said “Going isn’t an option for me right now. Besides where would I go?”

“Into the fire upstairs?” she breathed out forcing a smile that looked painful onto her face.

“Haha very funny” Caleb retorted sarcastically.
