Betrayal

Enzo couldn’t trust Antonio’s words, so he glared at the bikes parked at the shore. “I want the key,” he said, and they understood that he meant the bike.

Antonio nodded and signaled one of his men to hand his key to Enzo. He knew that Enzo was just confused and needed to get away, and he was willing to let him go. But Enzo didn’t trust him. Well, it was a wise decision.

“Take the key," Enzo ordered Damon, who nodded and held the key.

They both walked down the ship to the bike. “Start the bike,” he added, and Damon did as he was told; if Antonio didn’t object to him leaving, it meant he wanted him to leave.

So he started the bike, and Enzo pushed Damon away while still pointing the gun at him. “One wrong move..." he warned him, and Damon raised his hands in the air as he took a few steps back.

Enzo drove out at full speed. Damon glared at Antonio, who shrugged his shoulders. It was his brother, so he couldn’t hold him hostage. Besides, the whole country was now in search of him, and the only person who could protect him was him.

“Did you guys see how strong my brother is?” Antonio asked proudly, and the guards got confused. Sometimes their boss was way too sarcastic.

Enzo wore the helmet and drove far from the shore; luckily, there was a small phone attached to the bike. He parked the bike and decided to call, but who was he going to call? Leo threw him in the mud. Immediately he found that evidence, but he didn’t trust him one bit.

Then his mind drifted to Amelia; she might have rejected the marriage offer because it took her by surprise, but she loved him and must be worried about him.

“Hello?” After dialing the number, Amelia’s voice echoed from the other side of the phone.

“It’s me,” he said.

“Enzo, Enzo Where are you? You are all over the news; how are you?” Amelia asked, and a smile crept on his lips. At least she cared about him, and it was not a surprise that he was all over the news.

The country now considers him a shadow, but he expects a fair judgment from them because he has helped and served them his whole life.

“Let’s meet; I will explain everything to you. You won't believe the events that happened, Antonio. Damon and all,” he said in a confused tone. He needed to explain this to someone, and the only person he could do that to was Amelia.

“Sure, tell me your location. I will be there right now; be careful."Amelia said, and Enzo nodded. He glared around and noticed he was almost approaching the city, but the cops must be following Amelia everywhere she went, so it was better they met somewhere isolated.

So he drove the bike to the abandoned fountain in the forest; at least Amelia knew of that place because they usually hung up there.

--

Enzo leaned on his bike as he kept waiting for Amelia and also thinking of ways he could save himself. If everyone knew he had a twin brother, then they would know immediately that he was innocent and his case would be brought to court.

A red car drove towards him as Amelia walked down. She was dressed in blue jeans and a casual t-shirt as if she were prepared to run if things got drastic.

“Amelia” Enzo hurried towards her and pulled her in for a hug.

She immediately broke the hug before glaring around. “Uhm, what's happening?” she asked, and Enzo sighed.

“Amelia, I discovered I have a brother." He was explaining that when he got alerted, they were not alone here.

Then he spotted a small Bluetooth device on Amelia’s ears; she never wore one, and this one looked like one from the military.

He couldn’t believe she called the cops. “Why did you do this?” he asked, and seeing that Enzo knew about the cops meant Amelia was in danger, so the cops came out of their hidden spot and they all pointed their guns toward Enzo.

“Amelia, take a step backward!” Leo yelled out, and Amelia did. She quickly hurried to their car, and Enzo glared at her heartbroken. He couldn’t hold her hostage to escape like he did with Damon.

He didn’t want to do that to the woman he loved, and this woman didn’t think twice before she betrayed him.

“Enzo, give up now. There is no escape,” Leo said, and Enzo sneered.

“Was this your wish all along? To get me out of the picture? You seemed so eager to drag me to the mud,” Enzo said, and Leo swallowed hard because he knew it was the truth.

He has always been living in Enzo’s shadow since, from the orphanage, Enzo was always the best and everyone’s favorite. He even got chosen to join the force while he had to train so hard and gain a chance to be selected. It has always been about Enzo.

“You chose the wrong path in life; what am I to do? Praise you!” Leo sneered as he slowly approached Enzo.

Then, all of a sudden, red dots appeared on Leo and his teammates, including Amelia.

“What…” Leo was taken aback, Enzo was surprised, and he glared at himself and didn’t find any red dots. Was Antonio protecting him?

“Take this off me," Amelia screamed at the top of her voice when a voice echoed from the loudspeaker on the bike.

“If you move a finger, then I might take it off you." Enzo could recognize the voice as Antonio's. Was this bike connected to some kind of system, and has he been followed ever since?

“Enzo, give up without causing a fight,” Leo said, trying to reason with Enzo. Enzo knew all this was wrong, but there was no way he would be going to jail without clearing his name.

“You are all betrayers,” he said before getting on his bike. He drove out at full speed without glaring behind. Leo groaned angrily, and yet again, they let Enzo escape. Does he walk around with sniper men?

Then there was a loud gunshot. "Ahh!” Amelia winced in pain as she fell.

What? She was shot in the arms, "Amelia," and they all hurried towards her, seeing that the red dots had disappeared again.

In the building surrounding the fountain, Antonio smiled as he ordered one of his men to shoot Amelia.

“Women, they will always betray you,” he clicked his tongue. “Too bad you missed her heart; come on, we need to protect my brother, and I don't like being in this building; it brings bad memories,” he said as the sniper men all parked up and hurried to the back door.

Leo needed to handle this case quickly. “Chris, take Amelia to the hospital. We are going after Enzo,” he said, and Chris nodded before he carried Amelia to her car and drove away.

Leo and his team ran a few miles before they found their cars. They rushed inside and drove away.

“We lost his track,” one of the team members said, and Leo shook his head.

“His first option was Amelia, then I know his second option...let's go,” he said with a devilish smile. He won't let Enzo escape from him.
