The day came, The Silver Crown Hotel was filled with kings, politicians, celebrities, industry titans, journalists eagerly awaiting the highlights of the evening.

James was dressed in a tailored blue suit, he looked so handsome that he got everyone staring. He walked with Mr John preparing for their biggest plot. Mr John looked eagerly in search of Helen Shaw.

James felt bold; he knew that things would work in his favour. Mr John turned to him “do not eat or drink anything from here” he said, giving a sigh of warning “they might be poisoned by Helen Shaw”.

“Yes, sir. I remembered what happened the previous time.” he replied, reassuring him.

“Alright. Let’s keep our eyes on her.” Mr John told him as he walked into empty space.

Finally Helen Shaw appears in the hallway leading to the audience room. She was seen by John and James. They knew it was time to act first, they also searched for Brandon Holt they must miss this opportunity.

James was home sitting on his couch relaxing after the revenge. He scrolled through his phone, his eyes fixed on the barrage of headlines flashing across his screen “FRAUD AT MAPLE GROUP? MAPLE GROUP UNDER FIRE FOR ALLEGED FINANCIAL SCANDAL” He rushed to the office where we worked. The door of his office creaked open, and Ethan stepped in, his expression was mixed with urgency and sadness. “It’s everywhere,” he said, tossing a stack of printed articles onto the desk. “Social media is eating us up! They’re against ruining our reputation. We’ve already lost clients from overseas, if this continues we will all..”“It won't,” James interrupted, his tone sharper than he intended. He inhaled deeply, forcing himself to stay composed, “We’ll fix this. Organize the team. I want every shred of evidence disproving these lies compiled by the end of the day.”Ethan nodded, but didn’t move, “it’s just the team james. They’re calling for a meeting tomorrow morning. James sat in his office, the soft hum of the air conditioner blending with the distant sounds of the city below. His fingers tapped rhythmically against the sleek surface of his desk as he skimmed through the latest reports from Maple Group’s legal and PR teams. Despite the storm Brandon and his allies had stirred, James's countermeasures had steadied the company. His team had already uncovered the connection between Brandon and Helen Shaw. That revelation was a goldmine, but James knew he needed to thread carefully.James, we’ve traced Brandon’s financial movements,” Lisa said as she stepped into the room, a tablet in hand. “He’s funneling money into shell companies linked to Helen’s network. He’s been using her contacts in prison to orchestrate these attacks.”James smirked. “He’s bold, I’ll give him that. But boldness without precision can be dangerous. Let’s use this to our advantage.”Lisa raised an eyebrow. “What’s the plan?”“We’re going to expose the connection, but not just y

The Maple Group's conference room was unusually quiet. James sat at the head of the table his senior team gathered around him. A large screen on the wall displayed the results of their silent investigation."Brandon's been busy," Lisa said, clicking through the evidence. "We have everything-money trails, prison correspondences, and even his connection to Helen's shell companies. It's alright."James nodded. "Good. Today, we end this charade. Does Brandon want to play dirty? Let's show him what real power looks like."Victor smirked. "We're ready to pull the trigger. The press conference is scheduled for noon."James's expression remained calm, but his voice carried the weight of finality. "This isn't just about clearing our name. I want every last link between Brandon and Helen exposed. Let the world see who they are."Across town, Brandon was in damage-control mode. The mysterious emails from the night before had rattled him, but he couldn't let it show. He sat at his desk, reviewing

Pamela woke with a sense of clarity that had eluded her for years. Something about the way James had looked at her the previous night lingered in her mind—a mixture of quiet gratitude and steadfast strength. It was disarming, unfamiliar, and strangely comforting. As she descended the stairs, she found James already dressed, his tie neatly in place and his briefcase resting by the door. He was speaking on the phone, his voice low but firm, as he paced the foyer.“Yes, I’ve seen the reports. Make sure it’s handled discreetly. No loose ends,” he said before noticing Pamela. He ended the call quickly and smiled. “Good morning.”“Good morning,” she replied, tilting her head. “Another busy day?”James nodded. “It seems there’s always something that needs my attention.”Pamela hesitated, then asked, “And will you ever tell me what that something is?”James’s expression softened. “When the time is right.”She didn’t press further. Instead, she watched him leave, the quiet authority in his str

Later that evening, Pamela received an unexpected video call from her parents, Helen and George Shaw. It was rare for both of them to call her together, especially now that Helen was in prison. Pamela hesitated, her finger hovering over the accept button, before finally swiping to answer. Her mother’s sharp features filled the screen, her eyes as piercing as ever, even from behind the sterile background of the prison. George sat beside her, his expression stern and unyielding.“Pamela,” Helen began, her tone clipped. “We need to talk about James.”Pamela’s chest tightened. She had a sinking feeling about where this conversation was headed. “What about him?”George leaned forward, his voice grave. “We’ve been hearing things, Pamela. Things that concern us. James is poking his nose into matters that don’t concern him, and it’s putting our family’s reputation at risk.”“What are you talking about?” Pamela asked, though her voice faltered slightly.Helen’s lips thinned. “Don’t play naive,

The news broke early in the morning: Helen Shaw was being released from prison. Pamela read the notification twice, her heart pounding in her chest.“Early release?” she muttered to herself, confusion and unease threading through her voice. Her mother had shown no signs of remorse during their calls, so why now?James entered the kitchen, freshly showered and already dressed for the day. He caught sight of Pamela’s tense expression and paused. “What’s wrong?”She turned the phone screen toward him. “It’s my mother. She’s being released today.”James’s brow furrowed, though he didn’t seem surprised. “I heard rumors that this might happen. Brandon must have pulled some strings.”Pamela’s throat tightened. “Why would he do that? What does he gain by helping her?”James took a seat across from her, his gaze steady. “Brandon isn’t the kind of man who does anything for free. If he’s involved, it’s because he sees Helen as a tool a way to destabilize us.”Pamela frowned. “You think she’ll tu

James set his phone down, his fingers tightening around the device. Liam Donovan wasn’t just another businessman—he was a predator, the kind who thrived on exploiting weaknesses. Gregory had been desperate enough to call in a man like that, and now, even behind bars, his reach still lingered.Pamela’s brows furrowed as she stepped closer. “What did he say?”James exhaled slowly, his gaze fixed on the city skyline beyond his office window. “He made an offer.”Victor scoffed. “Let me guess. ‘Why fight when we can strike a deal’?”James smirked. “Almost word for word.”Pamela’s stomach tightened. “And what does he want?”James turned to her, his expression unreadable. “Control.”Victor’s jaw clenched. “Then we have a problem.”James’s eyes darkened. “No. He has a problem.”The Trap is SetBy morning, James had already begun countermeasures. Liam operated in the shadows, but that didn’t mean James couldn’t bring him into the light.Victor stood at James’s desk, handing over a file. “We fo

He sat in his office at Maple Group, fingers steepled as he studied the documents Victor had placed in front of him.“All of Gregory’s accounts have been frozen,” Victor reported. “The properties under his name are being seized. His investors have pulled out. On paper, he’s done.”James barely nodded. “And off paper?”Victor hesitated. “There’s one thing we haven’t accounted for—his offshore connections. Before his arrest, he made a large transfer to an unnamed entity. We don’t know where it went.”James’s jaw tightened. “Whoever received that money is still out there.”Victor sighed. “I’ve got people digging. But there’s something else you should see.”He pushed a file forward.James opened it. The first page was a printed email—one that had been sent from Gregory’s encrypted account just hours before his arrest.James’s eyes darkened as he read the message:“If you’re reading

A Race Against TimeJames’s car sped through the city streets, Victor’s voice sharp in his earpiece.“We have a location. Gregory’s men were spotted near the east industrial district. They’re moving in on something—or someone.”James’s grip on the steering wheel tightened. “Pamela and Emily?”“They’re secure,” Victor assured him. “But this isn’t just a scare tactic, James. Gregory is making his final move.”James’s jaw clenched. “Then we make ours.”At the East Industrial DistrictThe air was thick with tension as Gregory’s men surrounded the abandoned warehouse. The target was inside—someone they had been paid to silence.Inside, a man sat in the shadows, his face pale with fear. He had once been one of Gregory’s closest business allies, but now, he was nothing more than a liability. He had agreed to testify against Gregory, and in return, Gregory had sent his men to eliminate him.A masked man stepped forward, gun in hand. “Mr. Shaw sends his regards.”The man squeezed his eyes shut

He’s desperate. That makes him reckless.”Victor cursed. “He wouldn’t dare—”“He would,” James cut in. “And I need every possible angle covered. Track his movements, monitor his calls. If he so much as breathes near Pamela or Emily, I want to know before he even makes a move.”Pamela straightened at the mention of her daughter. “James, do you think he’ll target Emily?”James met her gaze, his expression unreadable. “Gregory’s losing everything. If Gregory has ties to bribery and offshore fraud, we’re not just exposing a businessman—we’re dragging government officials into this.”Mr. Carter nodded. “I understand. But I promise you, everything on that drive is real.”James stood, his movements precise. “Then we’ll find out soon enough.” He turned to Pamela. “I need Victor on this. Market volatility, increased competition… But with the right allies, these obstacles become opportunities.” He paused, letting his words sink in before delivering his final blow. “That is why I am confident that James Walker will make the right choice for his company, his employees, and his future.”The press erupted into a flurry of questions, but Gregory simply nodded, his message clear: The ball was now in James’s court.Pamela clenched her fists. “He’s

But as she reached the door, she heard voices inside—one of them sharp, unfamiliar.“I don’t care what it takes, Walker. Our deal stands, or you’ll regret it.”Pamela froze. The tone was threatening, laced with arrogance.James’s response was calm, but firm. “You overestimate your leverage. If you think threats will change my stance, you’re mistaken.”A pause. She had asked for this, and she intended to prove she could handle it.The door opened, and Victor strolled in without knocking. “Still here? Thought you’d run off after one meeting.”Pamela smirked without looking up. “Disappointed?”Victor chuckled, taking a seat across from her. “Actually, I’m impressed. James doesn’t let just anyone touch these reports.” He glanced at James, who was reviewing his own documents. “Guess that means you’re really serious about learning the ropes.”“I am.” Pamela tapped her pen against the page. “And since you’re here, maybe you can help me with something.”Victor raised an eyebrow. “Oh? What’s got you stumped?”She pointed to a section on international expansion. “I get the overall strategy, but what’s the real risk here? The numbers look good, but something feels off.”
