003.

Felix stood dumbfounded.

"Did you not hear me?" Mrs Smith raised her voiced.

"Every.. single... Dime", she glared at him.

"Ma'am", his voice was shaky, "ma'am please. I worked for this".

"You work for your pay Felix. And I'm the one that pays you, any other cash from customers is mine".

"But the others got tipped off", Felix didn't understand why she was being this mean to him.

"The others take their jobs seriously", she stated.

Felix couldn't imagine going home empty-handed. He watched hopelessly at the woman. His throat ran dry.

"Choose Felix. Give me the tips or kiss bye bye to this job", she dropped the bigger bomb.

Felix preferred a lightening would strike him at this moment.

"Do not waste my time young man, it's nauseating enough to have you here", she spat.

Felix with trembling hands dipped his hands into his pockets. Getting a job wasn't easy. He couldn't loose the one he already had.

He gathered all and placed them on her table.

"If I discover, that you held back a single penny...", She didn't need to complete her statement. He understood already.

"Get out".

Felix couldn't move his body. His eyes were fixed on the money on the table

"Get out of my office!!!" She yelled and he turned slowly and left.

His shoulders slumped and his tears fell as he made his way home.

He didn't achieve anything today. He didn't believe what just happened. His stomach grumbled. He hadn't eaten anything yet.

He continued walking till he got home.

He opened the door and walked in. His mom usually came home before him.

"Mom! I'm home!" He announced and looked around. His eyes landed on a stranger.

"Who are you?" He became alarmed.

It was a woman.

She was seated gracefully on their couch and had a glass of juice in her hand. Felix made his way forward trying to make out her face. Maybe she might be a friend of his mom.

"Mom?!" He called and he heard her answer from her room.

"Felix", the woman before him called his name.

He looked at her closely and then he recognized her. At that moment, his mom walked into the living room.

"You're home", she smiled but he rushed to her and stood in front of her as though shielding her from danger.

"What are you doing?" She muttered but he had his eyes on the woman on the couch.

"What do you want from us? I already apologized for bumping into you earlier today. I was late to work and in a hurry. You didn't have to find my house and come here and harass my mother and I", he glared at her.

The woman simply smiled and shared a glance with his mom.

He could hear his mom chuckle behind him and walk round to sit with the woman .

"Mom? You know her?" He asked.

His mom nodded.

"Your amulet dragged me here", the woman finally spoke for the first time.

"Felix come sit", his mom said and he looked confused.

He didn't object. He walked up to the couch that was across and sat, facing them.

The two women shared a glance, more like they didn't know how to go about what they were about to reveal.

"Who gave you that amulet son?" The woman asked and Felix scrunched his face at the word, 'son' but he didn't say anything.

"It's mine. I already told you that. I've had it since I was a baby" , he said and glanced at his mom as if he wasn't sure of his answer anymore.

The two women looked at each other again.

"What's going on mother?" He had to ask.

There was no smoother way to reveal this, so his mom simply stood and walked to him.

She held him and close and looked at their visitor, " she's your mom Felix".

What's with the unending shocking news today!!!

He stared from his mother's face to the woman who had now place down her glass of juice.

"Felix", the woman called.

He looked closely at her. She was dressed simply in a dark jean and red turtleneck, but her aura could tell she was someone of importance despite her simple outfit.

He looked at his mom again, "what are you talking about?"

"Felix you know I'm not your mother".

That's right. He knows that. He goes by the name Stark, while she was Laurel Timothy. She already explained to him that she was taking care of him but when he kept asking about his real parents, she told him, she picked him up and has no idea.

Laurel didn't mean to hide such information from him but she had lost contact with her friend. She didn't know if she was still alive so she didn't want to give the little boy hope.

Felix was still staring at his mom when his birth mom walked up to him, the three of them were now sitting on the couch.

"Son", she called again and took his hand.

He was in shock but he didn't withdraw his hand.

"My name is Andrea Stark and your father is Luca Stark. We didn't mean to leave you in the hands of Laurel but after the war, we lost our home and it was hard starting all over, we needed to go out there and make something for ourselves but you were young. We couldn't take you with us knowing the risk, so we left you with Laurel but we lost contact, when we came back she had left her home. We couldn't find you but your father and I never stopped searching. We didn't see you as dead" , she explained.

"But your amulet", she smiled.

"We gave you that amulet. You could say it was a way of marking our child. It couldn't have been any amulet. It's one of it's kind. It belongs to our family."

"When we bumped into each other and I saw the amulet and you. I was over the moon son. You look just like your father", she smiled and caressed his hand, "I'm sorry for all these years", she said and his foster mom rubbed his back.

Tears fell from Felix's eyes.

He didn't know if he was crying because of all he has just heard or it was a continuation of all the reasons he had to cry today, but he stared at her.

His mouth finally opened, "mother", he voiced.

Andrea hugged him immediately, her body had been itching to do that since she found out. She cried too.
