Felix stood dumbfounded.
"Did you not hear me?" Mrs Smith raised her voiced.
"Every.. single... Dime", she glared at him.
"Ma'am", his voice was shaky, "ma'am please. I worked for this".
"You work for your pay Felix. And I'm the one that pays you, any other cash from customers is mine".
"But the others got tipped off", Felix didn't understand why she was being this mean to him.
"The others take their jobs seriously", she stated.
Felix couldn't imagine going home empty-handed. He watched hopelessly at the woman. His throat ran dry.
"Choose Felix. Give me the tips or kiss bye bye to this job", she dropped the bigger bomb.
Felix preferred a lightening would strike him at this moment.
"Do not waste my time young man, it's nauseating enough to have you here", she spat.
Felix with trembling hands dipped his hands into his pockets. Getting a job wasn't easy. He couldn't loose the one he already had.
He gathered all and placed them on her table.
"If I discover, that you held back a single penny...", She didn't need to complete her statement. He understood already.
"Get out".
Felix couldn't move his body. His eyes were fixed on the money on the table
"Get out of my office!!!" She yelled and he turned slowly and left.
His shoulders slumped and his tears fell as he made his way home.
He didn't achieve anything today. He didn't believe what just happened. His stomach grumbled. He hadn't eaten anything yet.
He continued walking till he got home.
He opened the door and walked in. His mom usually came home before him.
"Mom! I'm home!" He announced and looked around. His eyes landed on a stranger.
"Who are you?" He became alarmed.
It was a woman.
She was seated gracefully on their couch and had a glass of juice in her hand. Felix made his way forward trying to make out her face. Maybe she might be a friend of his mom.
"Mom?!" He called and he heard her answer from her room.
"Felix", the woman before him called his name.
He looked at her closely and then he recognized her. At that moment, his mom walked into the living room.
"You're home", she smiled but he rushed to her and stood in front of her as though shielding her from danger.
"What are you doing?" She muttered but he had his eyes on the woman on the couch.
"What do you want from us? I already apologized for bumping into you earlier today. I was late to work and in a hurry. You didn't have to find my house and come here and harass my mother and I", he glared at her.
The woman simply smiled and shared a glance with his mom.
He could hear his mom chuckle behind him and walk round to sit with the woman .
"Mom? You know her?" He asked.
His mom nodded.
"Your amulet dragged me here", the woman finally spoke for the first time.
"Felix come sit", his mom said and he looked confused.
He didn't object. He walked up to the couch that was across and sat, facing them.
The two women shared a glance, more like they didn't know how to go about what they were about to reveal.
"Who gave you that amulet son?" The woman asked and Felix scrunched his face at the word, 'son' but he didn't say anything.
"It's mine. I already told you that. I've had it since I was a baby" , he said and glanced at his mom as if he wasn't sure of his answer anymore.
The two women looked at each other again.
"What's going on mother?" He had to ask.
There was no smoother way to reveal this, so his mom simply stood and walked to him.
She held him and close and looked at their visitor, " she's your mom Felix".
What's with the unending shocking news today!!!
He stared from his mother's face to the woman who had now place down her glass of juice.
"Felix", the woman called.
He looked closely at her. She was dressed simply in a dark jean and red turtleneck, but her aura could tell she was someone of importance despite her simple outfit.
He looked at his mom again, "what are you talking about?"
"Felix you know I'm not your mother".
That's right. He knows that. He goes by the name Stark, while she was Laurel Timothy. She already explained to him that she was taking care of him but when he kept asking about his real parents, she told him, she picked him up and has no idea.
Laurel didn't mean to hide such information from him but she had lost contact with her friend. She didn't know if she was still alive so she didn't want to give the little boy hope.
Felix was still staring at his mom when his birth mom walked up to him, the three of them were now sitting on the couch.
"Son", she called again and took his hand.
He was in shock but he didn't withdraw his hand.
"My name is Andrea Stark and your father is Luca Stark. We didn't mean to leave you in the hands of Laurel but after the war, we lost our home and it was hard starting all over, we needed to go out there and make something for ourselves but you were young. We couldn't take you with us knowing the risk, so we left you with Laurel but we lost contact, when we came back she had left her home. We couldn't find you but your father and I never stopped searching. We didn't see you as dead" , she explained.
"But your amulet", she smiled.
"We gave you that amulet. You could say it was a way of marking our child. It couldn't have been any amulet. It's one of it's kind. It belongs to our family."
"When we bumped into each other and I saw the amulet and you. I was over the moon son. You look just like your father", she smiled and caressed his hand, "I'm sorry for all these years", she said and his foster mom rubbed his back.
Tears fell from Felix's eyes.
He didn't know if he was crying because of all he has just heard or it was a continuation of all the reasons he had to cry today, but he stared at her.
His mouth finally opened, "mother", he voiced.
Andrea hugged him immediately, her body had been itching to do that since she found out. She cried too.
It was a happy reunion for all of them."You would never suffer again son. I apologize for all the years you had to experience such", she kissed his forehead, "and thank you again, Laurel", she said to her friend."Oh please. Felix is a sweetheart. He's still my son. Would always be", she said."What of Father?" Felix asked."He has business to take care of", she stroke his hair, "but we'd go see him once his back or he can come down here if you want. Though we'd love for you to come home", she said."Home? You don't live here?"It was Laurel who chuckled, he turned to her confused."Your parents have nothing to do with a small town like this one", she said."Well we have our main residence at Mayville, if that's what you're asking", Andrea shrugged like it was nothing, which actually it was."Main residence? There are more?" He asked shocked."Your parents are rich Felix. Filthy rich you can say", Laurel chuckled.Of course that would be the only explanation for having their main res
"forgive me Mrs Stark", Connor bowed and dragged the young waitress out.Felix and Laurel hung their jaws in awe. Felix was shocked at the fact his parents owned this luxury hotel and Laurel already knew her friend and her husband had hit jackpot but she just didn't know the mass of their wealth."You own this place, mom?"Felix found his voice "No son. You do", she smiled, "forgive such display. Connor would be careful from now henceforth", she smiled at him, "please enjoy your meal"."I own this place?" Felix was no longer interested in the meal."And lots more", Andrea smiled at her son. "This is just a branch, an extension of Stark HOTELS. You own this place. All these people.. they work for you. It's your inheritance", she said, "please eat up son".Felix had a shit ton of questions but he was really hungry and of course, his mom wasn't going anywhere...Yeah.. wait "Mom? Are you leaving?" He asked."After I just met you? Hell no", she smiled, "I do have to go back and manage
He balled his fist at the mention of that name. His mother noticed his countenance changed."What's wrong? You know him?" "Of course I know him and he will not step foot inside father's company. He's a prick and has always bullied. He was the one that destroyed my gizmo besides he's not good. He has his father do most of his projects for him! He will not work for us", Felix raged. His mom smiled. She thought it was something more serious, "is that all? Honey it's your company. Personalize it", she smiled, "and your wish is my command. We'll cut off every connection with their family. Will that do?" Felix nodded in satisfaction. Kelvin had to pay for all the humiliations he's put him through. Laurel stepped out. She had had her bathe and changed into a nightie."C'mon felix. She's my friend too. Go in and sleep. It's girl's time", she pouted and Felix smiled."Yes mom", he bit his lips, "I mean ...aunt Laurel". Andrea would surely not pick an offense. He had grown to seeing and k
Felix smirked. He even knew his mom. He's so dead."I didn't know you were in town", he smiled."Nice to see you too Arthur", she said."Son, you couldn't find what you needed?" She asked and Felix could see Arthur's eye widened. He pleaded with him with his eyes. Felix only grinned wider. He was enjoying this. Her phone rang again and she picked up, "what's it this time?" She groaned and stepped out.The man rushed to him and held his hand."Sir. Please forgive me. I must have been high on something. I overreacted. Please show mercy. Pick anything you want. Anything at all. It's on the house", he pleaded."Get your hands off me", Felix scoffed, "and I have enough money to fund whatever it is I want to buy", he scoffed, "but I'd rather take my money elsewhere".Andrea walked back in."Mom let's leave", Felix said."Arthur what happened?" She asked."Do you know him mom?" Felix asked "Yes. We helped start up this business. He's a friend. Any problem?" She asked. The man was at the ver
They were all seated and Andrea began by introducing herself."I'm Andrea Stark", she announced loud enough and a few people did turn to stare at Felix because of the last name but it couldn't be possible. They didn't even look alike and besides, they've known poor Felix for years. They returned their attention back to the woman in front. She kept talking and explained her purpose for being at their school."It's a program we hold every three years and normally isn't for high schoolers but we've decided to give you all a chance and it's all thanks to Mr. Cooper here who picked out your school and I'm very pleased with what I see", she said and the students beamed with smiles."Please, feel free when I get to your table", she said and the inspection began. She asked a few questions and the student answered. She had gone past five tables and hadn't picked anyone yet. She got to the sixth table and was intrigued. She asked the girl a few questions and she demonstrated and answered as exp
"you should speak to her too. I cannot work with this trash", he glared at Felix."You won't be working anywhere at all you foolish boy!!!" Everyone gasped "Couldn't you have simply memorized the parts?!!!! You didn't go through the stress of making it! All you had to do was learn!!! Learn!!" He yelled angrily."Dad you're embarrassing me here. I learnt all Mrs Gladys thought me".Everyone gasped again.Mr. Cooper turned to the fear-stricken woman."I paid you did I not?" He looked like a ferocious wolf as he strode towards Mrs Gladys."I made the Gizmo and I thought him according to the answers of the questions", she said."Kelvin cheated?""I can't believe this""Rich people are the worst"."Mrs Gladys is simply stupid"The students murmured amongst themselves.Kelvin ignored them and matched forward. Some students already had their phone's out."Dad, you don't have to do this you can simply call the owner..." A stinging slap cut his statement. His dad had never slapped him. A fe
Felix was cautious enough to not hang his jaw in awe as he stared on. The maids rushed to them. One taking his mom's handbag from her and another taking his bag from him."Welcome home young master", they all bowed."Yes. Welcome", Andrea smiled at her son. In that moment, Luca was descending the stairs."Dad", Felix mouthed and rushed to him, the two males hugged it out."It's good to finally have you home", he roughed his son's hair."Why do you both always do that", Felix groaned as he arranged his hair. They both chuckled including the maids that stood around."Old habits", Andrea chuckled."It's something we loved doing and you enjoyed it as a kid", Luca drew his son close."Well I'm not a kid anymore, am I?" Felix smiled."He's just as stubborn as you", Andrea smiled with teary eyes."Don't even dare let those tears out", he let go of Felix and held his wife. "We are together once again. After a long while. Nothing is separating us now", he said and kissed her lips."Son, you
Andrea and Luca stared at their 18-year-old."No, don't get me wrong", Felix chuckled."I just want to be treated like the others so I can learn all I need to. I don't need any special treatment or make others uncomfortable around me and maybe.. I think I should change my last name too"."Change your last name? Son..."No mom... I should. It's enough I look like dad. Now walking in there with the name - Stark, it won't be a matter of time before someone gets curious, probably follow me home and the whole thing goes kaboom", Felix said.Luca just stared at his son, the way he articulated things told him he'd be leaving his legacy and all he's acquired in the perfect hands.Luca sighed aloud, "fine"."Thanks dad"."I can get you an apartment and appoint a maid...."I can't live with a female!", Felix cut his father off.. "just yet", he almost blushed.Andrea chuckled."I never said she was going to live with you", Luca passed him a warm smile, "she'd do the cooking and cleaning. But you
