Chapter 6: Turning Around

The next thing Benedict knew, Jennifer was racing to welcome him, and he jumped.

The phrase "cherry blossom!" Jennifer launched a second assault, channelling the power of The Veil into her right leg before leaping into the air and aiming a powerful kick at Benedict's face.

Jennifer has had enough of Benedict and finds him repulsive; she feels that people like him have no right to exist. Garbage, too, can be used for something useful.

Jennifer's actions were not lost on Jacob.

"Damn!" Jacob was about to make a stealthy exit after saying, "That chick wants to kill Benedict," when Carly stopped him.

"Believe them! When one buddy has faith in another's potential, it may make all the difference in the world," Carly explains.

"But masters," Jacob said abruptly.

"Just put your faith in me!"

Benedict didn't give up even though Jennifer's kick was too swift.

Benedict, ready to unleash a punch, whispered, "If Jennifer kicks, then I'll throw a punch, a thousand earth fist!"

Benedict had a thick layer of hard soil on each of his hands.

BAAM!

Fists and feet came together. When one punch wasn't enough, Benedict threw more. He rained hundreds of punches on her feet to lessen the impact of Jennifer's kicks.

"Shit!" Jennifer muttered, "What kind of strength does this rubbish have? He blocked my powerful and deadly kick."

Before Jennifer put force into her legs, she tried to force Benedict to the ground.

"Argh!"

Training with eight times the earth's gravity increased the power of Jennifer's kicks, accelerated Benedict's fists, and significantly enhanced his punch reflexes. Jennifer's body was suspended midair as Benedict hit her repeatedly and relentlessly.

Benedict's right arm became increasingly tired as he pounded, so he clenched it and supported it firmly on his wrist. Jennifer's legs did not match Benedict's quick punches, and he was prepared to deliver them.

Jennifer jumped 30 metres and took flight; Benedict chased after her to set the ball rolling again. Benedict glared at his opponent before delivering a swift, as-a-bullet punch.

CRACK!

Jennifer's body slammed against a massive boulder, shattering it.

Blood came up in her vomit, she passed out, her ribs shattered, and she suffered serious damage to her internal organs. Benedict became limp and slumped down right away, with laboured breathing, his super god glasses turned off, and smoke coming out of every orifice.

Round-eyed and mouths agape, Carly, Clara, and Jacob realised that level 1 could overcome level 3. If we only look at reflexes, Benedict is on par with Jacob, who is at the highest level, 5.

Carly sped over to where Jennifer was lying helpless and yelled, "Small stone mode healing regeneration!"

The stones expanded from the size of baseballs in Carly's hand to a ball with a diameter of three metres. When Jennifer's body was wrapped, her exterior and internal wounds were completely healed in under a minute.

Jennifer's eyes widened, and she opened them slowly; she had not anticipated losing to Benedict, who was only a level one player. Carly aided Jennifer in standing.

Don't be too quick to judge others. Carly suggests that despite appearances, these people possess considerable power reserves.

Jennifer bowed and said, "Yes, master, I am guilty and will keep my promise."

Jennifer and Carly went over to where Jacob was carrying Benedict.

"If I smacked you too hard, I apologise. I inadvertently expended all my might on it!" Benedict implored, bending his head in submission. Despite his shame, Benedict felt sorry for Jennifer.

Her answer is, "No, I'm not. I am the one who should apologise for undervaluing you."

Jennifer humbly bowed and apologised for her behaviour, saying, "Please forgive all my mistakes."

"No, I was just babbling earlier," she said. "We are on equal footing; there is no hierarchy between us."

Jennifer touched Benedict's heart and said, "Extreme healing!" Benedict's wounds healed, his strength returned, and he appeared to be in good condition again.

"Thanks, mate," Benedict responded with a smile.

Jennifer cheerfully exclaims, "You're welcome, mate!"

"It's beyond lunchtime, so let's keep practising," Carly replied.

There was an instantaneous exclamation of "what?" from all four of them. They needed food and rest because of all the training they had done.

Let's head to the military academy's cafeteria for a joking meal! Invited by Carly.

The four eagerly said, "Ready, Master!"

The crew now has a better understanding of Jennifer and Benedict's dynamic. The disagreement they had brought them closer as friends rather than further apart.

They all sat across from each other in the restaurant: Clara across from Benedict, Jacob across from Jennifer, and Carly in front of the four of them.

Food has been served, although the menu varies depending on your floor; for example, you'll only find rice on Benedict's floor. His meals look like gourmet fare in comparison to Jacob's. Markopoulos believes in the value of authoritative leadership and international acclaim.

Humans who cannot become Aetherians will be more marginalised and forced into low-skilled occupations, including mining, oil extraction, farming, and other menial tasks.

While his peers and mentor Carly found this unbearable, Benedict enthusiastically ate every bite of his rice.

"I suggest you advance in level, Benedict, and not wait for the team fight exam."

"Are you prepared?"

COUGH!

Benedict sputtered.

"I don't understand what you mean by levelling up. If this is about my Aetherian level? Didn't I just take this test on my level yesterday?"

Benedict shook his head gently and said, "Master, it must be the same result; it must be an error."

Carly gave Benedict her chicken, Jacob gave him his lobster, Jennifer gave him eggs, and Clara handed him her rendang meat with the words, "I'll show you later; eat this!"

"Thank you very much for everything, master. With tears running down his cheeks."

Benedict said, "Now I feel like I have a family again."

Finish the meal immediately since it will be salty, Clara teased.

"Hahaha. Carly, Jacob, and Jennifer all laughed hysterically at the same time. When Benedict's parents passed away, he lost the comfort of his family. Thus, it meant a lot to him that his masters and friends treated him like he belonged in their family.

Jacob, Clara, and Jennifer all returned to their dorms simultaneously, and Carly completed her training today. Meanwhile, Carly goes somewhere private to see someone, and Benedict follows her there. That someone is General Arthur.

Carly said with a military salute, "Report general, I'm here with Benedict."

At this point, Arthur said, "Have a seat!"

Arthur sat with Carly and Benedict in front of him, and they all took turns smoking Cuban cigars and drinking coffee.

"What's the problem? Arthur said, "You came to see me, commander?"

I think Benedict has to take a test to advance a level. The general is well aware of Benedict's situation. Disconnecting Carly.

Saying, "Yes, I get it. As long as Benedict can show he is prepared to be a soldier, I have no problem with that. Arthur glared at Carly and stated, "I can give you a higher rank than Carly, the CPA rank."

Carly, a highly trained Deluxe Soldier Agent, was perplexed as Benedict prepared to take the Certified Public Accountant examination.
