Chapter 5: The Wealth of the Group

As Luke drove around the city, he couldn't believe the extent of the wealth and power that his grandfather's group had accumulated. The group had a diverse range of businesses, including real estate, technology, and finance, all generating billions of dollars in revenue each year. He drove through the city like a Boss, he really was living the life of his dreams. He had suddenly changed from being the guy who drives in an old car to the one driving in a flashy car .

His Grandfather's wealth had really made him a powerful man in the country. The respect that he was accorded was to the highest maximum peak, he had really imparted life by having so many employees.

The group's headquarters was a massive skyscraper, stretching up towards the sky. Luke was escorted into the building by a team of security personnel, who ensured that he was given the utmost respect and privacy.

As they arrived at the group Luke could not believe his eyes,for he had seen a very tall building at his disposal which he had never set his eyes on before.

Inside the building, Luke was taken to a private room where he met with his grandfather's trusted advisors. They explained the group's business operations to him, detailing the various companies and industries that they were involved in. Luke was amazed by the sheer scale of it all. Luke listened attentively for he had in his heart to make his late parents proud.

Not only that they took him to observe the sector that was into manufacturing drugs, for he was into that field of being a medical student.

Not only that but his Grandfather introduced to him the sub managers of the company to him, they all accorded him with the maximum respect, It was nothing compared to how he was treated by his wife's family and her friends.

They talked to him with their heads bowed down. Luke expressed his warmly gratitude to all the people for how they have made him felt.

He had not felt like that for some years back, the people around him that time only took him for nothing but someone who just came into Fiona's family for greener pastures. But these people had thought of him as a young respectful and noble guy who is ever ready to take his family's group to the next level.

However, Luke had other priorities on his mind. He wanted to find out the truth about the accident that had killed his parents and made him disappear for 18 years. He couldn't just sit back and enjoy his newfound wealth and power.

For his Grandfather had told him they have enemies on their world of business so he believed that his late parents death has something to do with some conspiracies.

So, Luke made a decision. He would continue to hide his true identity and work behind the scenes to investigate the accident. His grandfather's advisors were surprised but respected his wishes. They gave him a VIP credit card with unlimited funds, along with some shares in the group. The credit card had the symbol of the group on it and could be used anywhere that he wants.

Luke really loved to disguise himself, although he was happy he had met his only family and their riches but he really loved to live the simple life where he drove in his old car .

In addition, they provided him with secret safeguards to protect him from any potential threats or danger. Luke felt a sense of relief knowing that he had a safety net to rely on.

With all these he still had in my to bring justice to his parents death. He never planned of involving to the police in the matter, he tried to do everything himself so he could punish those people.

One brightly shined morning as Luke woke up from his bed he walked straightly to his Grandfather's room to ask if he could get the keys to his late parents room.

As he bumped into the room his eyes were already filled with tears, Luke really cried bitterly upon seeing some play toys and a diary which was written by both parents telling him how much they love him. He couldn't hold back his tears for the room he entered held back lot of memories of his late parents.

He has seen a hanged picture of himself and the late parents on the walls of the room. They had all his pictures of him being little at every corner of the room.

He went through his old clothes he wore as a child of that age ,his Grandfather did not do awy with those but kept them in memory of his parents and him when he was no where to be found after the accident.

Luke didn't touch his food for the whole of that week mourning his late parents, he even asked His Grandfather to take him to their grave.

From then he spent most of his time at his parents grave yard . It got to  a time where he got to know that they had that accident because his late Father lost consciousness as he was driving for they had all their attention on him .

For that notice he vowed to make them proud wherever they may find themselves.

With everything settled, Luke decided to take a drive around the city. He selected a sleek black car from the group's collection and took off, feeling a newfound sense of freedom and confidence. The world was his to explore, and he was ready for whatever lay ahead.
