CHAPTER 11

Ryan completed his work and was about to enter his room when he heard a car honk at the gate.

He knew it was the Williams sisters so he quickly descended the stairs and went to open the gate.

Geraldine drove in and parked the car.

All three sisters came out of the car.

Ryan noticed Adriana was moody and her two sisters were all quiet. He could not decipher what was wrong with them and he knew he could not ask.

The three ladies all went to their rooms.

Ryan shrugged and went to his room too.

Minutes later Ryan came out of his room looking clean and in a neat dress.

He went to the dining table and found out that the lunch he cooked was still untouched.

He stared for some time and entered the kitchen.

He dished out some food for himself and ate.

After he was done he dished some into a plastic bowl and covered it.

He put the food in a lunch bag and headed out.

He went to the garage and drove Mrs Williams' car to the hospital.

When he got to the hospital, the visiting time was over so he handed over the food to a nurse and left after he was asked to taste it. [ As part of the hospital rules and regulations].

Ryan drove out from the Hospital and headed home.

After driving for about ten minutes on the highway Ryan saw a Lamborghini Aventador parked by the roadside with its double indicator on.

The car was unregistered and Ryan thought it was that of Adriana.

He quickly parked his car a few meters after the Lamborghini.

He came out of the car and walked towards the Lamborghini.

Getting closer, he saw a middle-aged woman standing beside the car looking stranded and sweating profusely. She appeared to be making a call.

Ryan approached her and asked about the problem.

“ Do you need any help, ma'am? ”Ryan asked the woman politely.

“ Well my car just refused to move and I'm not being able to get through to my mechanic, do you know of anyone around who can fix this?

I need to get out of here now because I am running late for a meeting. ” the woman replied.

“Sorry I don't know any mechanic around but I can help you” Ryan offered.

The woman raised an eyebrow.

“ Are you a mechanic? ”

Ryan nodded in the negative with a smile.

" Sorry but this is a brand new car and of course the latest model, only a specialist can fix it”

the woman countered, cleaning her face lightly with her handkerchief to avoid messing up her makeup.

“ I know madam, but I can help” Ryan offered again.

The woman gave Ryan a questioning look.

Considering the fact that she was stranded and was running late for a meeting, she told him to go ahead.

Ryan quickly entered the car and started the engine.

The car made a squeaky noise and refused to start.

Ryan came out of the car and opened the bonnet. He worked on it for about 5 minutes.

The woman was getting impatient.

Ryan raised his head and wiped the sweat from his forehead with his thumb.

“ I'm done ma'am” Ryan exclaimed

He closed the bonnet and entered the car

He started the engine and the car quickly roared into action.

The woman was surprised.

“ You said you are not a mechanic yet you fixed this with ease. How did you do it".

The woman asked.

Ryan just smiled and tactically ignored the question with a long laugh.

She thanked Ryan and got into her car, came out again with some stack of cash and a contact card.

Ryan strategically took the card without the money.

The woman asked him to take the money but he refused

“ Thank you but I can't take this,” he said.

“No, take this as payment for your services or better still as a gift. ” She pressed but Ryan still refused

When she saw that Ryan was bent on rejecting the money, she asked for his contact…

Ryan gave his contact to her and she thanked her and drove off.

Ryan stared at the contact card in his hand.

The name displayed on it was Roselyn Chucks.

The company was Chucks O&G Engineering.

Ryan slipped the card into his pocket and went to drive Mrs Williams' car away.

He drove onto the highway and sped off to the house.

After the day's work, Ryan retired to bed.

As he was about to sleep, he received a W******p message.

He checked his phone and it was from an unknown number.

The message read

“ Hello young man, this is Roselyn, thank you very much for your help today. I appreciate it.

Sorry, I couldn't even ask for your name. May I know your name now? ”

Ryan stared at the message for a while and quickly remembered who the message was from

He saved the number with ‘Madam Roselyn ’ and replied to her message.

“ My name is Ryan Johnson, ma'am ”

A message popped up again.

“ Thank you very much, Ryan, I really appreciate your help today. I want us to have lunch tomorrow to show my appreciation. Will you be available? ”

Ryan after thinking for some minutes replied with “Okay ma'am”.

“ I will text you the location tomorrow morning.

Good night Ryan"

“ Good night madam”

Ryan texted back and put down his phone.

He lay on his bed reminiscing on his day.

It then dawned on him that the long-awaited visitor was due to come the next day.

Fear gripped him.

He still had not found a tangible reason he was going to give the Williams sisters if he was asked to sign off on the contract

He knew they wouldn't buy the idea that he was only obeying Mr Edward.

He laid on his bed thinking of a perfect explanation. After minutes of thinking without any solution coming to mind, he said.

“ The Lord will provide ”

He said as he pulled the blanket to cover himself.
