Chapter 3

"Damn, I can already imagine how you taste" he remarked.

"Let's leave this lowlife and have fun in one of the rooms here,"

Ethan growled, unable to restrain himself, he gritted his teeth and threw his fist across the thug's face causing him to start bleeding from his nose.

The crowd gasped in unison as their face turned pale with shock and fear. The thug was a notorious regular at the pub and many of the patrons amongst the crowd knew his reputation and that of his brother, the Mafia who often troops in with a gang like he owns the pub. They watched in horror and feared that Ethan would soon be dead meat.

"Arrr, What did you just do?" he asked angrily, seeing the blood that gushed out of his nose.

The thug's face reddened with rage and embarrassment as he stood up, his fists clenched tightly.

The bloodstains had entered his clothes, and without caring about the injury on his head, he trailed his eyes around him, looking for anything that he could throw at Ethan.

His eyes fell on a bottle; without wasting any time, he took the bottle and swung it towards Ethan's direction.

Ethan slightly bent his head, dodging the attack.

With a smirk on his face, he took some steps closer to him, the more Ethan walked towards where the thug stood, the more afraid he seemed by taking a step back.

"You're scared?" Ethan asked, nonchalantly.

"Oh I promise you that you'll be the scared cat in a minute" He responded, boldly with a smirk at the corner of his lips.

Before Ethan could respond, the door clicked open and the room turned pin drop silent immediately.

Ethan turned his back, gazing at the man that just walked in. He looked so much like the thug but more mature.

The man's eyes fell behind Ethan, where his brother stood, wounded and beaten to stupor.

Roseanne immediately moved closer to Ethan, gently touching his hand. "I think we should leave," she whispered, terrified, thinking that Ethan was in big trouble now.

"That's the man James," The thug spat, his finger pointing accusingly at Ethan.

James strode forward, his eyes darkened as he spoke, "How dare you?" He growled, grabbing Ethan's shirt collar and pulling him closer.

"A filthy animal like you? Messing around with the wrong man." James frowned.

The thug shamelessly smirked because just like everyone else in this room, he thought that Ethan was doomed.

"Pretty filthy boy, You've made a grave mistake but count yourself lucky that I'm in quite a good mood today" He paused, letting go of his shirt collar,

"Save yourself the pain of my wrath and go on your knees to apologize to my brother," He said causing Ethan to scoff

"What for?" 

"You've got nerves, don't you?"

"Just apologize so that we can leave," Roseanne said frightened.

"Ooufff." James licked his lips the second his eyes fell on Roseanne,

His gaze lingered on her as he spoke, "She's a pretty one and maybe, she might end up pleasing my brother and I brother tonight"

The thug, feeling irritated, strode towards Ethan and spat on his feet, "you think you're tough? Do you know what mafia group my brother is from?" He paused, for emphasis 

"Los Lobos." He mentioned. Hearing the name made the crowd gasp, sending shivers down their spine. Most of them dropped to their knees, terrified to death.

"You don't stand a chance against us. Kneel down, or you'll never see her again," 

Ethan was unmoved; rather, a sly smile found it's way to his face as he heard the name of the mafia group James was from. He turned to Roseanne, barely maintaining any eye contact before taking his phone out of his pocket. He scrolled through his call log and dialed a number.

"Hello." Ethan said, calmly as the person answered.

"Antonio Gomez." He stated, sternly.

"I have a complaint. You must know James, a member of your group." He paused, noticing the surprised look on the faces of the crowd, including James, who seemed unsure of who the receiver of his call was.

The conversation between Ethan and Antonio lasted another 30 seconds before Ethan finally said, "Do as you have said Antonio, I hate humiliation." 

"Okay Mr. Ethan, I'm sorry once again for his rebellion." He apologized and without responding, Ethan ended the call.

Not long after the call ended, James phone suddenly rang,

He pulled his phone out from his pocket, and his heart sank as he saw his boss name flashing on his phone screen.

"Hel..."

"James, do you have any idea the trouble you've just caused? The money we'll lose, the power we'll forfeit? Apologize to Mr. Ethan immediately, or consider today the last day you'll ever see the light of day." Antonio's voice was cold and intimidating before he abruptly ended the call.

James immediately went on his knees. "I'm so sorry, sir. I'm sorry for insulting you. Please have mercy on me and ignore my actions" He said, bowing his head.

"Why are you on your knees, brother? This man is a nobody compared to you, can't you see how he looks, you'll know an important person when you see one." the thug said, walking closer to James.

He took James's hand and tried to drag him up, but instead of James complying, he threw a dirty slap across his face.

"If only you knew what your actions would cost the both of us, you'd be on your knees," James muttered and threw another also across his face again before making him kneel.

"Please ignore my brother, sir...."

"I want you and your brother to move on your knees to the lady in red and apologize to her now!" Ethan said sternly.

Without hesitation, James nodded and gestured for his brother to go with him.

The thug growled but had no choice as he was terrified.

"I'm sorry," The thug said, but Ethan wasn't pleased, and James sensed this, so he aggressively pushed his brother's head so that it hit the ground.

"Arr... Argh....." He growled, rolling on the floor.

"Permit me to get on my feet and deal with him, sir," James said.

"Go on," Ethan said, looking heartless. Roseanne couldn't watch the violent scene.

"Please make him stop," Ethan immediately held out his hand, signaling James to stop after hearing the fear through her voice. 

Roseanne was stunned; she immediately let out the long sigh that she was holding in.

Meanwhile, in the crowd, an olive skin tone girl stood, watching Ethan's every move. She took her phone out of her pocket and went through her call log.

"Hello, Gina, what's the matter?" Dana asked the second she answered her friend's call.
