Chapter 2

Roseanne knew little about Ethan's identity but the information she gathered was enough for her to know how important he was.

"You haven't answered me!"

"I know that you're Dana's husband," She responded, quietly causing Ethan to frown. He was displeased that Roseanne called him the husband to a cheater.

Roseanne immediately noticed his expression and it rang a bell to her that something was wrong, "I'm really sorry for offending your wife in business, and I'm here to make things right if you'd let me," she faltered.

"Would you and Dana like to join me for dinner? So we can discuss and clear up the misunderstanding between us." She said causing Ethan to throw her a distain look.

"Is there something wrong?" Roseanne asked, unable to brush off the feeling that things weren't quite right.

Ethan's expression darkened as he struggled to contain his frustration, "Dana and I won't be able to come for dinner,"

Roseanne chuckled dryly, sensing the underlying issues, "okay. But perhaps you'd like to join me for a drink instead," She suggested, her voice laced with subtle invitation.

A drink was exactly what Ethan needed at the moment, he needed to clear his head and blow off steam. In frustration, he nodded causing Roseanne to smile, beckoning for her chauffeur to get down from the car.

The chauffeur held out the door for his boss and Ethan to get into the car.

Roseanne kept on gazing at Ethan through the rearview mirror in the car.

They got to one of the most expensive bars in the country. They were both served two shots each.

On the table, The silence between Roseanne and Ethan was deafening that Roseanne felt uncomfortable.

She parted her lips to speak, in attempt to break the awkward silence, she asked,

"Mr. Ethan, Your wife..."

"We've broken up," He informed, taking another shot.

It immediately made sense to Roseanne now and she didn't know whether to take it as a good sign or not. The only reason she planned on apologizing Dana was because she was in need of help from Ethan.

After learning about Ethan's influential behind-the-scenes role at Secret Company, Roseanne realized he might be able to help her double the business income in 2 weeks and her parents would have no reason to marry her off.

If her company goes bankrupt, Roseanne will have to marry Ferdinand, the wealthy man her parents have been pushing her to wed. The problem is, Ferdinand is not only overweight, but he's also 28 years older than her and, frankly, not much to look at.

"Er... I actually need your help," She said coming off clean. Ethan raised his brows, asking, "What for?"

"My family's business have been on edge and we are almost going bankrupt..."

"What does that have to do with me?" Ethan cut in.

"I know you can help me." She faltered.

"I'm sorry Roseanne, you're looking on the wrong person for help," He said causing Roseanne to swallow hard.

This was literally the only chance she has or in two weeks the wedding bells would ring for her in church.

She swallowed hard, about to speak when she felt a hand on her shoulder.

She turned to look behind her only for her eyes to fall on a man in his late twenties, drunk.

Roseanne arched her brows. "Hey, pretty," he said, winking at her, ignoring the fact that there's the presence of another man in front of her.

Roseanne narrowed her eyes and poured herself a shot, feeling irritated, she asked, "Are you blind?"

"Can't you see that I'm here with a gentleman? Find your way to another table, Mr. Man; this one is not open for you," she scolded.

The man was immediately embarrassed; he scoffed, looking down at himself before taking Roseanne's hand. "Did you just say those words to me? I don't think you know who I am!" He growled.

"Let go of my hand. I'm sure that if you know who I really am, you'll care less about your own identity."

"Haha, you're nothing but a pencil in my sight," he spat. Driven by my rage and anger, Roseanna yelled at her.

"Let go of my hand, you animal. You really don't know what you're getting yourself into. I'm the CEO of Walmart conglomerate, and you'll surely regret this action of yours." She threatened, but the man was unmoved by her identity.

Usually, people would tremble and bow their heads the second they hear the name Walmart.

"You think so highly of yourself. The Walmart is nothing compared to my brother, who is a member of the largest mafia court in the city. With just a snap of his fingers, all who he wants dead will fall dead," he bragged.

Roseanna was frightened the second she heard that his brother is a member of the largest Mafia court in the city. She just couldn't afford to provoke a Mafia, as she knew what they were capable of.

"Take your hands off her," Ethan's thick voice rang from where he sat.

The thug and the small crowd that have formed didn't notice Ethan until now. Seeing the eyes that had turned to him, Ethan stood to his feet, walking two steps closer to him,

"And who are you?" He asked, dragging Roseanna away, provoking Ethan even more.

"Let go of her hand gently and you don't have to go home, wounded," He warned, gazing sternly at the thug.

The thug sneered, "Me? Wounded? You're clearly nothing but weak bones." He turned to Roseanne, his gaze roving over her,

"And as for you sweetheart... you'd be better off warming my bed,"

Ethan's eyes suddenly blazed with fury as he clutched his fist tightly, as if restraining himself from launching an attack.

Sensing the anger in the air, the thug sneered, trying to provoke Ethan even more, "Oh come on pretty boy, don't get your feathers ruffled, I'm only stating the obvious,"

"But come to think of it. You're nothing but a pretty boy. Look how lowly you're dressed and how pale your skin is. Like someone who haven't had a good meal in days" He paused and licked his lips, touching Roseanne's butt aggressively as his eyes roved on her cleavage.
