Victor’s brows furrowed. He had personally approved that shipment. “What about them?”

“They’ve been skimming off the profits,” Roland said flatly. “Twenty percent of the revenue they made from deliveries was pocketed instead of being submitted instead of leaving the full amount intact until they submitted everything to the company.”

For a moment, Victor didn’t react. It felt like the words hadn’t quite registered. But then, like a match striking a fuse, his anger exploded.

“They what?” Victor hissed, his voice was low but trembling with rage.

“Yes, boss,” Roland continued, his tone was cautious. “They’ve been doing this for weeks, but this time, it’s worse. Twenty percent of the profits are missing. I’ve got the proof.”

Victor’s grip on the phone tightened as his earlier anger combined with this fresh betrayal.

His face darkened, the veins on his neck becoming visible. His chest heaved as disbelief, horror, and fury surged through him all at once.

The betrayal was almost too much to

I trusted them to work for me, to be loyal, and this—this is how they repay me? By stealing from me?”Luis Tarejo, startled by Victor’s outburst, raised his hands in a placating gesture. “Victor, cálmate! What is going on? Tell me, hombre, what has happened?”Victor’s jaw clenched as he pushed his laptop across the desk toward Luis. His voice was cold and deliberate. “Take it. Watch this video.”Luis hesitated for a moment before leaning forward, with a face that was etched with concern. Roughly two hours later, the sound of truck engines filled the air as a convoy of delivery vehicles rolled into the company headquarters. One by one, twenty trucks parked neatly in the company’s parking lot. The drivers climbed out of their trucks, each with different expressions—some tired, some curious, others just trying to stretch their legs after the long drive. The leader of the drivers, a stocky man named Raymond, stepped down from the first truck. He wiped the sweat from his forehead with the back of his hand, his face was tight with tension. As he looked around, he saw his colleagues chatting, laughing, or stretching, seemingly unaware of the storm that was about to hit.Raymond adjusted his cap, his mind racing, and then he raised his hand. His voice rang out loud and clear, cutting through the chatter.“Listen up!” he barked, his tone demanding attention. The voices of the drivers fell silent immediately. They all turned to look at Raymond, some frowning, others nervous. Th

The drivers exchanged uneasy glances, some turning to scan the group as though expecting Raymond to step forward at any moment. The silence grew heavier with each passing second as they shuffled uncomfortably.“Isn’t Mr Raymond here?” a young driver muttered under his breath, looking over his shoulder.“I thought he was right behind us,” another chimed in, as his brow was furrowed. The murmurs of confusion spread like wildfire. A few men called out Raymond’s name, their voices echoed in the spacious office, but no response came. After a few minutes of searching the group and glancing toward the door, it became painfully clear—Mr Raymond was not present.“He’s not here,” an older driver finally said, his voice carried a mix of disbelief and worry. “But he’s the one who told us to come here in the first place! He said it was an order from the boss.”“I could’ve sworn he was with us when we came in,” another driver added, scratching his head. “What’s going on?”The men exchanged confuse

The driver stepped forward, his face was pale, yet he clasped his hands tightly in front of him as if bracing himself for the storm ahead. His voice trembled with a mix of humility and desperation.“Mr. Vayne, with all due respect,” he began carefully, his gaze firmly on the floor, “we would never, ever think of you as a fool. Please, believe me when I say that. None of us here would dare to insult you or your intelligence.”Victor’s eyes narrowed, his arms were crossed as he stood like an immovable mountain. His silence pressed the driver to continue.“What you saw in that video,” the driver said, his tone pleading now, “was nothing but a skit—a stupid, drunken joke. We were… we were messing around after a few drinks. That’s all it was, sir. We would never harm the company or steal its money. It wasn’t serious.”Victor Vayne tilted his head slightly, his piercing gaze boring into the driver. “A skit?” he repeated slowly, his voice was calm yet filled with a dangerous edge. “You expec

Victor’s phone buzzed loudly on the desk, cutting through the otherwise oppressive silence. His eyes flicked to the screen, and his stomach tightened when he saw the name. Then, after a long pause, he picked up the call and pressed the phone to his ear, his fingers curling tightly around it.“Hello, Mr. Landon,” Victor said, his voice was steady but it carried an edge of authority.“Ah, Victor,” Mr. Landon’s voice came through, calm and measured. “How are you today?”Victor leaned back in his chair, his fingers were still tight from the frustration of his earlier encounter with the drivers. “Everything’s fine, as usual,” he replied, keeping his tone neutral.A brief silence stretched between them before Mr. Landon spoke again, his voice taking on a curious, almost probing tone. “I heard you sacked your drivers. Relief began to seep into his features, but Luiz’s next words made him freeze.“However,” Luiz added, his tone firm, “it will cost you.”Victor flinched at the statement. He had no room for negotiation, no time to bargain. Desperation had tightened its grip on him. His voice came out rushed, almost pleading. “How much, Luiz? Tell me how much. • CRACKS IN CONTROL

Two hours had passed.Marvin sat on the metal stool, his back was slightly hunched. His mind felt like it had been stretched and pulled in all directions, yet he still wasn’t sure if he had truly connected with the rabbit. He had tried—really tried—but all he got were flashes of movement, strange impressions, and faint emotions that vanished as quickly as they came. The Prime Minister watched him for a moment before finally speaking.“You did your best,” he said, his voice was even. “It wasn’t perfect, but that’s expected. You will return here tomorrow.”Marvin exhaled, rubbing his temples. He was exhausted, but he nodded anyway. “Alright.”He stood up, adjusting his woollen jacket. As he turned towards the door, he cast a quick glance at his uncle, Christopher Richmond, who had been silently observing from the corner of the lab. With a subtle dip of his head, Marvin muttered, “Thank you, Uncle.”Before he could take another step, the Prime Minister’s voice stopped him.“There’s som

  • MIND OVER MATTER

Marvin blinked in disbelief, his gaze shifted between the Prime Minister and the rabbit in the cage. His mind struggled to process what he had just heard.“Do rabbits think?” Marvin blurted out, his voice was laced with skepticism. “For goodness' sake, they are animals!”The Prime Minister chuckled softly, folding his hands behind his back. His piercing blue eyes held a glint of amusement.“Oh yes, Marvin, rabbits do think,” he said confidently. “They may not think like humans, but their minds are constantly at work.”Marvin raised an eyebrow, still unconvinced. The Prime Minister continued, raising one finger. “First, rabbits remember faces. If you are kind to them, they recognize you and respond positively. But if you harm them, they will avoid you or even act aggressively.”He raised a second finger. “Second, rabbits feel emotions. They experience fear, joy, and even loneliness. If a rabbit loses its companion, it can become sad and refuse to eat.”A third finger went up. “Third,

  • THE TEST OF A SILENT RABBIT

Marvin’s mind was spinning. His whole body felt numb, and his thoughts raced a million miles an hour. But despite the overwhelming confusion and disbelief, he managed to murmur a shaky, “Yes.”The Prime Minister gave a slight nod, his piercing blue eyes never leaving Marvin's face. He motioned toward a chair set off to the side, one that looked far too advanced for a normal piece of furniture.“Please, have a seat,” the Prime Minister said, his voice was calm and patient, as if nothing extraordinary had just happened. “We will begin shortly.”Marvin’s legs trembled slightly as he walked to the chair. The seat seemed to hum with some kind of energy, almost as if it were alive, waiting for him. He hesitated for only a moment before sitting down, as his body was stiff with anticipation. The Prime Minister then pulled out a small, metallic object from a metallic of briefcase. It was a pair of sleek, black earplugs, unlike any Marvin had ever seen before. The earplugs seemed to shimmer

  • THE PHANTOM ARRIVAL

He stepped out, with his polished shoes clicking against the tiled driveway. His sharp eyes scanned the surroundings. Something felt… off.Where were the security guards?Since the prime minister was inside the mansion it was supposed to be heavily guarded. But no, it was too quiet. No armed men. No patrols. Just the grand building standing tall under the morning sun.As he walked towards the entrance, the doors swung open before he could even knock. A well-dressed butler, his posture straight as an iron rod, gave a polite bow.“Master Marvin, welcome. Please, follow me.”Marvin nodded and stepped inside. • MIND OVER MATTER

Marvin took a deep breath, his mind struggling to process the Prime Minister’s words.Mind reading?Could he really develop such an ability? The very idea made his chest tighten. He had pushed himself beyond human limits, unlocking abilities that others could only dream of. But reading minds? That was an entirely different level. If what the Prime Minister said was true, this training would change everything. He couldn’t afford to hesitate. He had come to far to back down now. The prime minister had registered enough trust for him to back down now.If mind reading was the key to fulfilling his mission, then he had no choice but to embrace it.Marvin clenched his fist, pushing away his doubts.“Understood, Your Excellency,” he said firmly. “I’ll be there at ten.”The Prime Minister didn’t respond. The line went dead.Marvin let out a slow breath and placed his phone on the table. His body still ached from last night’s passionate encounter with Stella, but he pushed the thought aside.

  • BETWEEN LOVE AND DUTY

A faint glow from the city lights seeped through the hotel curtains, casting soft shadows over the room. The air was thick with warmth and the lingering scent of passion from the night before.Marvin stirred, with his body shifting against the soft sheets. As he blinked his eyes open, his mind was still clouded with the memories of last night—Stella's soft skin against his, the way her body had trembled under his touch, the way she had whispered his name over and over in the dark. But something else struck him at that moment—he was completely naked. His heart pounded as he slowly turned his head to the side. There she was—Stella. Still asleep. She lay there peacefully, her bare skin was illuminated by the dim light, her chest was rising and falling in a steady rhythm. Strands of her hair were sprawled across the pillow, and her lips were slightly parted as she breathed softly.Marvin’s breath caught in his throat. What had they done?He already knew the answer. They had made love.

  • BREAKING POINT THE FIRE WITHIN

Stella’s fingers gripped Marvin’s wrist tighter, and her heart raced as she slowly stood up. She pulled him gently towards her, with her breath catching in her chest. Her eyes were locked onto his, and in that moment, she couldn’t hold back any longer. The words she had kept hidden for years, buried deep inside her, came rushing out."Marvin," she whispered, her voice was trembling with raw emotion. "I’ve always had a crush on you. Ever since high school." She let out a shaky breath. "I was always fascinated by how you would help your father with his business. You were so strong, so capable, and I couldn’t help but admire you."Marvin’s confusion grew, with his brow furrowing slightly. This wasn’t what he had expected. He thought this was about the way he had ignored her, the way he had made her feel unappreciated. But now, hearing her words, he felt something else stir in him—something he couldn’t quite place.Stella took a shaky breath before continuing, her voice softening, fil

  • BROKEN BARRIERS

Marvin met Stella’s gaze, his expression unreadable. For a moment, it seemed like he was considering what to say next. Then, in one swift motion, he reached out and gently snatched the car keys from her hand."Come on, get in the car," he said, his voice was firm but not unkind. "I’m driving you to your lodge."Stella blinked. "Wait, what?"Without answering, Marvin walked over to the front passenger seat and pulled the door open for her. He held it, waiting, his gaze was steady.Stella stood frozen, processing what had just happened. She wasn’t used to this side of Marvin—the one who took charge, the one who actually seemed to care. She hesitated, her defenses were rising again. "Marvin, I—""Come on," he interrupted, his voice was softer now. "Get in. The day isn’t getting any younger."Something in his tone chipped away at the last of her resistance. Her mind screamed at her to hold onto her anger, to remind him that he didn’t deserve her trust. But her body betrayed her once agai

  • A FORGOTTEN LOVE, A LOVE REMEMBERED

Stella yanked her wrist free, stepping back, with her breath uneven. Her chest rose and fell as she clenched her fists."You really don’t get it, do you?" she said, her voice was shaking with frustration.Marvin frowned. "Stella, I—""You never appreciated me, Marvin," she interrupted, her eyes glistening. "No matter what I did, no matter how much I showed you that I cared, it was never enough!" Frustration was evident in her voice."For goodness sake I saved you from your father's assassins, if not for me, you wouldn't be standing on your two feet this moment. There wouldn't be any project helios, you wouldn't be the billionaire businessman you are today if not for me. Yet...yet..."Her voice cracked, and she turned away, as if looking at him hurt too much."I waited for you," she continued. "I waited for your calls. Your texts. Even a simple 'How are you, Stella?' But you never reached out. You never cared."Marvin swallowed hard. His instinct was to say, I didn’t have your contact.
