Chapter 10: Face slapped.

Marcus snorted, casting the duo a menacing gaze. “If you think I'll do that then you must be joking!”

Marcus stook a step closer, his gaze intimidating and fierce. “Do you think this is about your money huh? Is your money worth my sister's life!!”

Sir. Hex smiled at his bold confrontation. He held him on the shoulder. “You know what young man, in this life, only money can solve everything. Do you know why some patients die in the hospital? It's because they have no money to treat themselves. Now tell me, can money buy life or not?”

He dropped his hands but the smile remained stagnant on his face. “Someone who has no money is a dead man!” The smile on his face suddenly changed to a frown “Apologize now or face the brutal consequences!”

Marcus shook his head without moving an inch. “If you think your money can buy life then you are a joker and you’re the dead man here because you have nothing but you're yet to realize it.” He retaliated.

Sir. Hex laughed out loudly. He scanned him from head to toe and snorted to his poor appearance. “Do you even have up to $2000 dollars in your account?”

“He can't even afford good clothes.” Mirabelle eyed him from head to toe with a degrading look.

Marcus stared at her, feeling bittered that she had married a heartless gold digger for a wife.

“You’re just a gold digger Mirabelle and who I pity is this old ....”

Mirabelle angrily raised his hand to slap Marcus but he held her hands in the air, glaring dagger into her eye.

Marcus tightened his grip on her and she winced in pain. “ Next time you attempt to raise your hands at me, you'll regret ever stepping into this world!” He warned.

“Get your filthy hands off my wife!!” Sir. X roared, pushing Marcus away from Mirabelle.

“I see you're ungrateful and you'll regret it. Enough of the drama!” He pulled out his phone and hastily dialed a number.

“Listen Ava!” He began on the call. “I want that little girl out of my hospital! Do that now!” He instructed and dropped the call.

“You’re making a big mistake.” He forced a smile, his intention known to him alone.

“Let’s see how you're going to save your poor sister now!” Sir. Hex chuckled with a mockery smile.

Sir. Hex pulled the two officers to a corner and talked to them. Marcus couldn't hear their conversation but he saw the men nodded to whatever he told them.

They returned and cuffed Marcus again and walked him to the door where he suddenly stopped and turned to see Sir. Hex glaring at him.

“You’ll regret this.” He told him before he totally went out of sight.

Inside of the helicopter, Marcus glanced at the two officers beside him.

“You know I can offer you 3 Times of what he paid you if you can just remove these cuffs.” He waved his hand, smiling at them warmly to see them exchanging a doubting glance. “Trust me, $1 million dollar each for both of you” He added confidently.

The men widened their eyes when they heard the huge amount of money.

“I just need to make a very important call.” He added, his voice raised to supercede the sound of the helicopter.

With the mouthwatering offer, the men removed the cuffs. Marcus retrieved his phone and dialed a number.

“Hello, who is this?” A sharp voice came from the other end.

“It's Marcus.” He said curtly.

A moment of silence was observed on the call until it was broken by the receiver who seemed shocked.

“Marcus!! I tho..ught you were dead. It was all over the news! How do you…”

“This is no time for questions Emma.” Marcus interrupted him sharply, his patience burning rapidly.

“I need every detail about Twinkles hotel. Especially the largest shareholder and the lawyer in charge. You have a minute to do that.” He said.

“Right on it.” Emma responded before the line dropped dead.

Emma is a hacker, a computer guru!

Within some seconds, Marcus had received the details about the shareholders including the lawyer’s number.

He chuckled when he saw Sir. Hex as the highest shareholders. No wonder the old man was proud!

“Hello….” He was speaking with the lawyer, the phone glued to his ear.

Sir. Hex in his bedroom couldn't be seen kissing Mirabelle on the bed. Both were stark naked, about to explore their sexual feelings but Sir Hex’s phone buzzed, ringing out loud and causing a disturbance but the man ignored it, refusing to quit the burning desire.

The phone rang again, piercing the air loudly.

“Who the heck is that fool calling!!” Sir. Hex lamented and left Mirabelle to pick the phone. It was a call from his lawyer.

“Why the heck are you disturbing my night lawyer! What nonsense!” He barked.

“Am sorry sir.” The lawyer sounded professional but not apologetic. “I want to bring to your notice that your name has been erased as one of the shareholders of Twinkles hotel and hospital. Someone has bid $100 billion dollars to become the highest shareholder.” He explained and the line went off immediately.

“Hello…hello..What nonsense!!!” Sir. Hex angrily smatched his phone against the wall. “He must be f*cking kidding!!” He began to dress up hurriedly.

“What is the problem babe?” Mirabelle tucked her hair backward and stepped down from the bed with a bedsheet covering her nakedness.

Before the man could reply, his other phone rang and he picked up instantly, breathing hastily without checking the caller's identity “Listen lawyer, I don't care who the..”

“It’s Marcus.” Marcus interrupted him with a chuckle, mocking his present predicament. “Let’s see how tough you can last, old man.” He laughed and the call ended.

“You!!” Sir. Hex gritted his teeth, his whole body burning with anger. “You have just started a war!!” He grabbed his car key and hurried out.
