Marital Clash

James stood there and was astonished by her utterances. He was star-struck and hated himself for not believing her when she told him that her mother didn't show up at the hospital.

He bit the side of his lips and said to himself, “What exactly have I gotten myself into? How do I stand a chance to fully convince her when I know that I've raised the bar already.”

He scoffed silently, pouting his lips to the other side.

“I shouldn't have steered up this conversation at all.”

“James, do you want me to repeat myself all over again?” She raised her voice louder and this time around she wasn't taking it lightly with him.

James knew that he had messed up the whole conversation by invoking her mother's name to her ears.

“Anna, you will have to stay calm if at all you want me to say anything regarding this issue.”

Anna kept quiet and looked at him thoroughly before bursting out a loud laugh, “Really? You want me to be calm. Why didn't you caution yourself when you were wiggling your mouth
