Where Is The Money?

"Yes, I have loved someone before, and her name is Anna. Well, she is no longer my fiancee. She left me for another man," Mason admitted, a little bit of pain was shown in his voice.

Andrew chuckled at these words. "She thought she left Stone but little did she know she left Diamond. How pathetic of her," he remarked, as he felt pity for her.

Gregory smirked, his voice lowered. "Do you still have feelings for her? Like do you love her?" he asked, curious to know whether Mason still loved her.

Mason couldn't help but wonder why his grandfather had raised that particular question. He realized that answering it wouldn't be easy, and he didn't want to hide the truth.

Considering everything he had gone through with Anna, enduring her hurtful words, and the challenges they faced together,  Mason let out a sigh.

"I'm still healing, so it's hard for me to give a simple 'yes' or 'no.' What I do know is that there is a strong feeling of hatred between us," he explained, at least the last statement was the truth.

Andrew observed the sadness and anger reflected on Mason's face as he answered the question. As Andrew sensed how he was, he decided not to press further into the details of what had transpired.

Instead, Andrew made a silent vow to help his son move on from the pain and replace it with the happiness he had been deprived of for far too long.

Once the meeting concluded, they were already gathered outside. Gregory extended his hand to shake Mason's, and respectfully,  Mason bowed his head before them.

Mason smiled as he left the restaurant, he hailed a taxi to his destination. Upon arrival, he paid the driver and stepped out, gazing at the address of the apartment compound.

Although, when he arrived at the location, he was surprised to find that it was an upscale estate. He couldn't make sense of how a seemingly small house could be worth forty million dollars.

As he approached the entrance, the gatekeeper addressed him, recognizing him. "Wait... Are you Mason?" the gatekeeper inquired, to which Mason nodded affirmatively.

"Oh...this key is for you. I was instructed to give it to you," the gatekeeper said, handing Mason the key before turning away for his job post.

Mason took the key, as he was a bit stunned, It seemed they were already prepared for his arrival. As he glanced around, his eyes fell upon the impressive expanse of the estate, with approximately twenty houses standing within it. The scale of the estate was truly surprising.

Just as he was about to enter his apartment, a thought suddenly struck his mind, pausing him in his tracks.

Mason couldn't help but wonder if Andrew had purchased the entire estate. It seemed highly unlikely, considering that the house he was about to enter had only two rooms. The house itself didn't resemble a grand mansion, nor were any details provided about the interior design. It appeared to be a modest, middle-class type of house.

His family is just filled with surprises money is being spent in every which way and of course they earn it.

Mason chose not to complain, he was fine with it. He understood the intentions behind his father and grandfather's actions and their desire to keep his true wealth hidden.

Mason stepped into the house and took a moment to look around. It was a difference compared to the place he had stayed while being with Anna. He knew he would only be residing here temporarily until he could uncover the identity of the traitor and also exact his revenge.

He recalled when he found out that Anna had been working as a secretary in the company, a smirk played across Mason's face as he lay on the bed, his arms crossed over his chest. The memories of their past relationship fueled his reasons to seek revenge and set things right.

Filled with a desire for revenge, Mason has planned to play mind games with Anna.

He vowed that she would never occupy the position she currently held, and he would ensure she faced demotion, the one that she would be embarrassed of.

Just as he was lost in his thoughts, Mason was abruptly awakened by a ringing phone. He yawned and stretched his body before grabbing the phone. Upon seeing the Caller ID, he scoffed, recognizing the caller. He stood up, rubbing his hand over his tired eyes, preparing himself for the conversation which he knew would be fun.

"I can see you are enjoying yourself too much, you feel just relaxed after you were sacked, You dared to continue to walk with Mr. Jonah, despite the harm he caused me because of you, huh?" Lucas spoke, attempting to intimidate Mason as he did.

Mason let out a disdainful scoff. "I don't understand the purpose of this call, Mr. James. Are you calling to threaten me or is there some other reason?" he replied.

James frowned, taken aback by Mason's newfound confidence. "Your newfound confidence is quite something. I'm calling to inform you that if I don't receive the money you owe the hotel, you know very well what I'm capable of. It will be more than just the beatings you've received from me," he threatened.

Mason smirked, unbothered by James' words. He ended the call and casually tossed his phone onto the bed.

After taking a shower, Mason dressed himself and left the house. He decided to walk and made his way to the main road. Once there, he spotted a taxi and got inside.

He glanced at his bank card as he let out a scoff. "Don't worry, I will certainly repay your money and prove you wrong!" he muttered with determination.

As he arrived at the WIMS hotel, Mason proceeded towards the entrance, only to be stopped by the gatekeeper.

"Hey, you! I thought you were banned from entering this hotel... Leave immediately!" the gatekeeper scolded, his face displaying a frown as he extended his hands towards the gate, he was also prepared to throw him out with his hands if he didn't comply with him.

Mason let out a sigh, As he was about to speak up, his attention was diverted as he spotted Lucas on the staircase leading into the restaurant.

"Let him in, that scoundrel owes me," Lucas shouted before walking inside the hotel.

The gatekeeper smirked knowingly. "I'm sure he's just here to beg for another month," he mocked.

Mason didn't even give a damn about what the gatekeeper said nor took that personally as he proceeded into the hotel. As he walked, he noticed the staff members glaring at him with disdainful faces.

"What on earth is he doing here?" the receptionist muttered, her face contorted in a frown.

"If it weren't for Lucas, I'd dump this unfinished meal right on him," another staff member from the catering department added.

"Indeed, he clearly instructed us not to mistreat him, for now, I just don't know when" the cashier smirked, watching Mason ascend the stairs.

Mason overheard the conversation outside the office, fully aware of the disrespectful utterings they made about him. He let out a scoff before approaching the office door. He knocked but received no response. Trying again, he knocked once more.

"I'm sure that idiot didn't realize the door was already open," he spoke rudely, as was his usual manner. Mason turned the doorknob and entered his office.

Mason suppressed the fear he felt in the presence of Jonah, he reminded himself of his power and influence, and if he should use it then it be over for him. Instead of showing fear, he put on a smile and respectfully bowed his head.

"So, where is my money?" he inquired, not even asking Mason to have a seat first.
