"You're both fired!" The manager's words caught them off guard, and they were stunned by the sudden termination.
"You idiots! This is Andrew Willstone's son and Gregory Willstone's grandson! Do you have any idea about the kind of power he holds?" the manager yelled, his frustration evident. He then proceeded to slap both of them, leaving them in shock. They turned their gaze towards Mason, who had a slight smirk on his face.
"Sir... Please, we didn't know he was the one..." one of them pleaded, their voices filled with both being surprised and sad.
"Shut up! Don't beg me, beg the one you disrespected!" Jonah, the manager snapped in anger. The two guards couldn't help but kneel in front of him, feeling utterly embarrassed, they were scared as their faces were almost touching the floor.
Their desperation to get their jobs back was shown as they pleaded, "Please, young master, we are truly sorry..." They were driven by shame, realizing that this was the only way to save their jobs.
Mason let out a sigh and attempted to walk inside the restaurant with Jonah, but one of the employees grabbed hold of his legs, causing him to frown in annoyance.
"Please, don't do this to us. My wife is terribly sick, and three months' salary would be enough to cover her medical bills," one of the guards pleaded, with sadness in his eyes.
"Oh, you didn't consider that when you were insulting my granddad," Mason retorted, shaking his head. He yanked his legs making sure his hands were off him as he accidentally hit his jaw in the process. However, Mason didn't turn back to apologize, knowing that he deserved the blow.
They couldn't believe that they had disrespected the most powerful man in the city. They realized that being fired from their jobs was a lenient punishment compared to what they truly deserved.
"I deeply apologize for the inappropriate behavior of my staff," the manager spoke up, expressing his regret to Mason. Mason smiled in response, accepting the apology, and continued to follow Jonah.
The workers in the restaurant noticed Mason's presence and stopped what they were doing. They bowed respectfully to him, drawing the attention of James and Lucas, who frowned at the sight.
"What is this loser doing with the restaurant manager? Wait... Don't tell me he caused some trouble," James muttered, while Lucas scoffed in disbelief.
"Let me go confront him," Lucas said, hastily finishing his drink and quickly making his way toward Mason and Jonah.
Mason was surprised when he saw Lucas approaching them, he wondered what he wanted with him again then the next thing he said got him fed up.
"May I ask why this sick man is following you?" Lucas inquired, his tone dripping with disdain.
"And may I ask how that is any of your business?" Jonah retorted, his response catching Lucas off guard. He furrowed his brow, taken aback by the sharpness of Jonah's reply.
"Sir, I understand what's going on here, but I just wanted to tell you that..."
"Get out of my face and let Young Master Mason pass!" Jonah interrupted, raising his voice and attracting the attention of everyone in the restaurant. Lucas was left flabbergasted as he was forcefully pushed aside to make way for Mason, he had never been disrespected like that before.
"What the hell just happened?" James muttered under his breath, watching in disbelief as Lucas was insulted and pushed by Jonah for Mason, he looked at Mason as he confidently walked out of the main restaurant area and headed towards the VVIP section.
Lucas scoffed and returned to his seat, muttering, "He's so pitiful." He rolled his eyes, but deep down, he was feeling increasingly angry.
As they reached the VVIP section, the guards at the entrance opened the door, allowing only Mason to enter. Mason glanced back and noticed Jonah bowing his head before leaving the room.
Andrew quickly approached Mason, concern evident in his expression. "I hope you weren't harmed, and those individuals were dealt with severely," he said, his voice filled with protective concern.
"Of course," Mason replied, reassuring Andrew.
Then, Mason's attention was drawn to an elderly man in his early 70s, smiling warmly at him. The man stood up and spread his arms invitingly.
"Come here, give your grandpa a hug," the old man said affectionately. Mason walked towards him and embraced him, they both smiled during the hug, Mason was overwhelmed seeing his grandfather while Gregory was the happy one seeing his grandson. After a moment, they withdrew from the hug.
"You've changed a lot, Mason," he said calmly. He nodded and sat down in the chair across from Gregory.
"I'm sure you already know what's happening, Mason, and your dad has told you about it. I don't want you to be scared or think that you're in danger, okay? Everything will be okay," he reassured.
"I'm not scared, Grandpa," Mason blurted out as Gregory smirked in response.
"I love your confidence, and you'll certainly need it. As Andrew mentioned earlier, you'll be disguising yourself and continuing to live as you did before, without revealing your wealth. You won't be staying at Willstone Mansion," Gregory explained, causing Mason to raise an eyebrow in surprise.
"Yes, you won't. You'll either stay in a hotel or an apartment," Gregory confirmed.
"No, I think an apartment would be better. I'll arrange for security for Mason," Andrew interjected. Mason nodded in agreement with his father's suggestion.
"Rule number one: Don't trust anyone, do you understand?" Gregory emphasized, looking directly at Mason.
"Yes, sir," Mason replied, nodding in acknowledgment. Gregory then took out a document from his suitcase.
"Here, this is the apartment I purchased for you and I want you to sign it"
Mason collected the papers from his hands looked through them, and signed them, the apartment costs forty million dollars and he was still the same person who told him that he should leave a low profile, or is there something he is cooking up?.
"What about your fiance? I learned you have a fiance, isn't that right?" He said as he sipped his wine but, Mason was surprised at how he knew about it.
"Or you don't have? Isn't her name Anna?”
"Yes, I have loved someone before, and her name is Anna. Well, she is no longer my fiancee. She left me for another man," Mason admitted, a little bit of pain was shown in his voice.Andrew chuckled at these words. "She thought she left Stone but little did she know she left Diamond. How pathetic of her," he remarked, as he felt pity for her.Gregory smirked, his voice lowered. "Do you still have feelings for her? Like do you love her?" he asked, curious to know whether Mason still loved her.Mason couldn't help but wonder why his grandfather had raised that particular question. He realized that answering it wouldn't be easy, and he didn't want to hide the truth.Considering everything he had gone through with Anna, enduring her hurtful words, and the challenges they faced together, Mason let out a sigh. "I'm still healing, so it's hard for me to give a simple 'yes' or 'no.' What I do know is that there is a strong feeling of hatred between us," he explained, at least the last state
"It's here," he said confidently. Lucas couldn't help but wonder what was happening to him, why was he so confident and sharp? He used to be the person they bullied so effectively when he worked at the hotel. Lucas clenched his fists, wanting to slap him, but Mason's disturbing smile made him hesitate, he didn't know why but it scared him.Mason enjoyed seeing Lucas shocked by his new attitude. He was no longer scared, and he planned to keep confusing them like this.He tossed his bank card onto the table, causing Lucas to furrow his brow."How dare you, you pauper!" Lucas yelled, expecting Mason to flinch. However, Mason remained unfazed and responded, "Please call the cashier so I can make the transfer, or send me your account number so I can use my phone. I have things to do."An awkward silence hung between them. Lucas reluctantly stretched his hand and placed his card on the table. Mason swiftly took it and began typing his account number, for the money transfer."Let's see just
Mason ignored him, admiring the black car parked in front. "Get out of my face!" Mason ordered, bowing his head as he placed the key on top of the car. He and the guards then left. Mason's phone began ringing, and he picked it up. By then, he had already entered the building, looking around in case he saw him. "Hello, Mason. I hope there's no problem," he asked as Mason shook his head. "Where are you, Dad?" "I'm sorry, son, but he is busy for now. You see, he is a nice person, so I understood him and let him be. Maybe some other time, okay?" "Yes, Andrew." He ended the call with a sigh, got into the car, and inserted the key. Suddenly, the sound of the engine made him flinch. "Wow," he exclaimed as he began driving the car out of the car company. When he reached the Hins company to begin his work, he parked his car in the garage and entered the company. He entered his department and saw that everyone was already there. There were five of them—two men and three women. It appeare
“You must be a joker to think that I borrowed a car to please someone like you.”- he chuckled out loud with his keys dangling before her eyes.Anna cleaned off her eyes thinking that it was a dream and pinched her skin so tight to wake up from her dream but it wasn’t a dream at all.“Mason, You and I know that you can’t afford a three square meal not to even talk about buying a car worth millions. Please, I would advise you to wake up from that imaginary life playing right in your head and face reality. Go and return the car to the owner and stop deceiving everyone that you’ve made it loser.”- she scoffed out loud as she disdainfully eyed him.Mason felt so bad about Anna finding it very hard to believe that he had already made it but he didn’t let her words get to him. He adjusted his shirt and braced himself while he went further to lock his car.“I don’t care what you think about me or how you view me. You can believe whatever you want to believe and whoever you want to believe it
“You heard what she said, baby boy. Do you want to also beat her as well? Sometimes, I wonder how you were able to get the opportunity to work as an intern here. It doesn’t fit you in at all and to be very honest you stink.”- her words kept coming out of her mouth like venom. Mason's eyes turned so red to the extent that his veins were so tight and evident on his skin when his fist clenched together in anger. He wanted to raise his hands and give her a resounding slap but he just had to hold himself from beating her up because he wasn’t raised like that.“Have you suddenly gone deaf and dumb all of a sudden? I thought you were bragging about beating her up not quite long so what suddenly happened? You’ve lost your balls, right?’- Precious words strike like a chord at the back of his brain.“Precious, save your saliva for something worthwhile and not on someone that stinks like a pig who can’t even stand the test of time. If Mason is being placed between a pig and they ask me to choos
“Hold on for a second. Are you asking me this question because of what that good-for-nothing boy said about me? Are you?”- Louisa questioned her while turning around to look at her.“Answer the fucking question, Louisa. I want you to be honest with me right now so that I can know where I stand in your life and know if you truly value me as a friend.”- precious voice was heard shaking from the way she threw the question at her not minding that she was in the office.Louisa walked up to her, placing her hands on her chin to comfort her a little, “Please we can talk about this in the restroom where no one would hear what we are about to discuss and not the other way round besides this is our working hour.”Precious aggressively pulled off her hands away from her chin with anger in her eyes, “Do you think I care about the fact that we are in the office? From the way, I’m talking to you do you think I’m happy about the fact that everyone thinks I’m your slave and not your friend just becau
He lowered his voice at her, “Are you crazy? What the hell is wrong with you Anna? Why can’t you allow me to live my life without you being there at all?”-his eyes focused more on her eyes from the way she spoke. She laughed at him not minding the eyes of the staff who focused on them, “I won’t let you rest nor give you a breathing space as long as you continue to deceive these people around you claiming that you are rich.”He glanced at his fellow intern and co-workers who paid rapt attention to him and Anna’s discussion.“Anna, I’ve moved on with my life and I also want you to move on with yours and stop following me as a tse tse fly. Fine, you said that I’m a liar and a deceiver, right?”- he lowered his voice and asked her.“Yes! Not only that you forgot to add that you are a poor Janitor and a stinky ass hole.”- her eyes rolled in corners looking at him with disgust and hatred.“I accept everything you’ve said now can you leave me alone and get back to work or don’t you have any w
Anna stormed into James' office as the door banged closely behind her the moment she stepped into the office. “Oh My Goodness! Anna, What’s wrong with you? Are you being pursued by another person?”- he stood up from his chair and quickly grabbed the doorknob to check if he might see the person pursuing her. “Come off it, James. No one is coming after me. I am the one being pissed off right now because of what I saw today. ”- she dropped her bag on his table in full force. He grabbed his chair and sat down quietly to listen to her pour out her mind, “What is the problem, my dear? Anna baby you know I'm always here for you so why are you looking this way?”- his hands played with her cheeks to lighten up her mood a little bit. “I'm not in the mood for all this kind of play, James. I'm sure that by the time you hear all that I'm about to spill to you then you'll have to take your filthy hands off my cheeks. ”- she pulled his hands off her face and kept on wearing a frown look.
