Liam strained his hand, holding on to her with everything he had, but he knew he could not hold on for so much longer. The position he was in made it impossible to. His other hand was still on the wheel, trying to keep the truck from sliding forward.

Jonah stood at some distance, watching him struggle. He could not help but laugh. He’d heard about the great Liam Moran, but standing next to him now, he didn’t seem so great or powerful. He was just another man.

Liam turned his head and saw Jonah standing a few feet away, watching it all like a sick predator, all for his entertainment. His smirk only widened as he crouched down, resting his arms on his knees.

“One hand on the wheel, one hand on her,” he mused, voice dripping with amusement, “What’s it going to be Liam?”

Liam held on much tighter, but his grip on Mia was slipping and he knew it. Her fingers started to slide from his grasp. She kicked her legs desperately, trying to find something, anything to hold onto.

The car roared through the night, carrying them away from the wreckage, chaos, and almost certain death. Laura, still barely conscious, rested in the backseat. Her breathing was shallow but steady. Meanwhile, Mia leaned against Liam, and neither of them spoke for a while. The tragedy that had almost caught them was still fresh on everybody’s minds. Some time passed and then Mia let out a soft sigh, “We lost the case,” she murmured, her voice filled with disappointment. “Everything’s gone, and now that bastard is going to win the case tomorrow and everything will fall apart.”Liam didn’t respond at first. He just stared at the road ahead, deep in thought. Then after a moment, he exhaled sharply. “Then we get it back.”Mia turned quickly toward him, staring at his face with acute observation. His jaw was tight, his knuckles white and his face laced with a look she couldn’t recognize, something dark, sinister. She could tell just by looking at him that Liam had been pushed over the edge.

Liam arrived at Michael’s house shortly later that night. The entire ride there, Liam’s mind was focused entirely on the possibility of Michael’s knowledge of this farm. As they stepped out of the car, escorted by the butler, Jack still had some reservations about Michael. As they walked, he pulled Liam aside, face tensed and worried, “What if you’re wrong about this? What if Michael knows more about this than we think?”Liam stopped and raised his gaze to the ceiling. He didn’t know for sure why Jack kept insisting on Michael’s involvement. Was he just looking out for him or was there something else? However, he didn’t ignore his concerns. Liam heaved a deep sigh and turned toward him, “We won’t know until we ask. If Michael is innocent, he’ll help us, but if he isn’t, we’ll know soon enough and know he’s in leagues with his cousin.”The butler stopped in front of a massive door and knocked gently on it. Michael’s voice returned from the other end of the door, “Come in!”The butler

Immediately the atmosphere of the room shifted. The air became thick with tension as Jonah’s men raised their weapons. Michael froze in place, his words stuck in his throat. He could not believe it, Jonah had gone completely mad.“You shouldn’t have come here, Michael. Now you’ve seen too much.” Jonah said.Michael stepped forward, his eyes still wide with disbelief. “Jonah… What is this? You’ve been running an illegal operation this whole time?”Jonah shrugged, and then said, “You were never meant to f

After barely escaping the fiasco at the farm, Liam was still in a frenzy. Jack’s sacrifice was heavy on his mind. ‘Why did he do that? What happened to him?’ He tried his best to understand why Liam took the fall, but could not see it, that was not the plan. They’d gotten what they wanted, so why did he stay back?Michael was equally in shock. As soon as he left the car, he brought out a tiny flask from his coat pocket and took a large swig, “I can’t believe Jonah would do this.” He said then took another swig, “The farm, the flowers… how could I not know about it? He’s been running a drug operation and using our family’s name for this nightmare.”Liam turned toward him, holding the flower, his eyes burning in rage, “Better believe it. Your cousin has crossed the line and if anything happens to Jack, I’m going to make sure he pays for it.” Michael did not argue, he did not try to convince Liam otherwise anymore, not after Jonah had held a gun to his face. Still, he couldn’t help but f

As the council convened, Liam and Michael took their seats, poise and ready. They scanned their eyes around the crowd but Jonah was nowhere to be found. However, just then, the entrance door swung open. The entire room stilled, and shifted their attention to the door, watching curiously as Jonah walked in. Liam had picked up the analysis gotten from Dr Carter earlier that morning, and with the results, he was confident that there was no way, Jonah would be let to go free. The council leader, Chairman Reynolds stood up after everyone was settled, and then began, “We have gathered today to address serious allegations about your involvement in Mr Nelson’s schemes.” He paused and turned to Liam, “Mr. Moran, you have evidence?”Liam shi

As soon as Peter hung up, Jonah hurriedly pushed through the entrance doors of the council chambers, barely aware or concerned about the reporters calling his name. The cold air hit his face, but it did. Toning to clear his spinning thoughts or the reality of his position now. Peter had cut him off, and not only did that mean that his safety net was gone, but judging by his tone, he knew that sooner or later, Peter would be coming for him.He had to make a move and resolve this situation quickly, because if Peter truly turned against him, he wouldn’t just stop at taking away his resources, and protection, he’d take his life too. This thought overwhelmed him so much, he couldn’t even hear his phone vibrating at first. However, just then a group of reporters surrounded him, flashing their cameras and asking questions. When he pulled it out, he quickly answered, seeing it was Dr Carter, “What have you found?”Carter hesitated for a moment. “Dr Carter?” Liam repeated.“He’s taking it back to his base,” Evelyn’s words returned, filled with dread. “Liam, if Peter truly intends to use this flower to create a bioweapon, he needs to be stopped. From my research, he has altered these flowers to wield more power. But there’s something strange about the results I got from one of his sites.”Liam’s brows furrowed in suspicion, “What do you mean?” He asked. “I mean, Peter’s not just trying to create a bioweapon. He’s creating something else, something strong and he’s altering its genetics with this plant.”Liam paused for a deep moment, his mind drifting to the many possibilities. At the head of the room stood Senator Vaughn, hands behind his back, wearing that usual smug look like he already knew the outcome.“Since Mr Moran has decided to join us today, the meeting will now begin,” one of the older members announced. “We are here to review the ownership and handling of Peter Harrow’s estate, specifically research rights,
