“Great!” Margaret spat and slapped her thighs the moment a drunk Lisa was led into the living room by Morris, whose hand was sprawled around her shoulder for support.

“I’ll sit on the couch,” Lisa mumbled and dragged her feet toward the first couch her hazy eyes caught.

Morris was trying to lead her there but she seemed too eager to free herself from his clutch that she ended up collapsing on her face.

“Thank you,” Margaret mumbled to Morris and walked up to Lisa who was now panting heavily with her face buried deep into the couch.

Morris dropped Lisa’s things on the table, acknowledged Joey Carson with a nod, and stepped out.

Margaret turned to her husband in fury. “Seriously? You’re going to sit there and watch her destroy her life over a bowl of popcorn?”

Joey Carson, who was dressed in his Fenty pajamas dropped his bowl of popcorn with a sigh. It was family night. The once-a-month event the Carsons initiated to bond over a movie.
